You mean the Alabama that has had a NC in every decade since the 1920s except for the 1950's?
Or the Alabama that has 26 SEC titles immediately preceded by 4 southern conference titles?
When did you guys get interested in football? 1999?

Any title won by any team prior to the point where big money was being made off of it is pointless. It's like the northern schools bragging about their tennis records to the southern schools. Who gives a frick.

Your point is taken, but let's not fabricate things by moving the 1979 title into the 1980s. It was the 1979 title, period. Plus the 1980 trophy resides in Athens, Georgia.
