Hypothetical Eason transfer situation

The guys on the Glory UGA podcast posited that if Eason wants to play next season at another school, he could withdraw today and be eligible to play next year at a new school. Apparently 10-19 is the deadline for withdrawal from classes at UGA this semester.
Anyone know if that withdrawal date is correct?

I highly doubt he leaves until he sees how this season fully plays out.

he's not leaving in the middle of the season. He knows pretty well how quickly things can change

I don't think you can play without sitting out a year unless you've graduated or drop down to FCS.

That just doens't sound correct in any way. There was a QB for bama very recently that saw the writing on the wall about PT and quit/withdrew early in the season to meet some kind of deadline like you mentioned. Although I don't know all the details, I was almost positive that you can only play somehwere else immeidatley (next year) if you are a graduate transfer. I could've sworn going to another 1A school (opposed to JUCO) meant an automatic year out, and if you want to transfer to another SEC school it's 2 years out (could be wrong there).
Either way, I don't think it's possible for him to play at another 1A school beginning with the 2018 season. I mean hell if that was the case you'd see guys being free agents and transferring every year.

You have to have a hardship, be a grad transfer, or go down a level in order to play immediately. There is no other way around sitting out.

I like Eason and was a big fan of his last season, but if he quit mid-season to go play elsewhere...

These discussions about Eason were inevitable but I really hope he doesn't read this board.
The truth is we NEED Eason and if Fromm goes down, Eason will be right back in the starting saddle again. I would guess that Eason realizes that he would be in the same position again competing for a starting position at almost any other top 10 college football program.

Radio said if he went FCS he would play right away.
Or sit one year, then go to LSU.

Doubt you'd have that "seeya" attitude if he quit and Fromm went down. Need eason to finish out the year with us at least.

I heard the podcast.
There is a drop/add deadline that make this fall his sit out year.
To do that, he must withdraw now from his classes so he doesn't get a failing grade. And he must enroll somewhere else for this semester.
I don't know if they are right or wrong. But that is what they referenced in the podcast.

We need team players on our roster if we want to be successful. We have had years of experience of selfishness that has led to letdowns and if Eason is so selfish that he wouldn't even wait until the end of the season to transfer (if he does), then I would be glad he's gone. Attitude goes a long way.

I just don't think that can be correct. He's played in 3 games for us already, how can he count 2017 as a "sit out" year then go play for another 1A team in 2018? That just doesn't sound right.

I know everyone wants the first contract in the nfl.
But I think he could do just as great if he stayed at UGA and earned some playing time (all the time if Fromm gets hurt) and just goes pro after 3 years.
Continue his development in the NFL with better coaching and resources. That is the end goal. Don't put it off another year by transferring.
Stafford took 3 years to develop into an NFL quarterback. What that means is that he wasn't ready the first 3 years. We lost a lot of games on his back.
Eason can get there developmentally as a backup for 1 more year (starter with an injury) and go where he belongs.

Pretty sure he'd have to sit 2 years if he went to an SEC school

Correct if he transferred straight there. Of course he could go to JUCO for 1 year then go anywhere.

That us a question for the glory UGA guys.
They said that someone did this last season.
The playing "previously" just burns any redshirt opportunity. Sitting out is on an academic calendar and evidently you can get credits to satisfy that (if they are right)

None of us are mind readers, but my completely uneducated guess is that Eason plays next season and then graduates in April 2019 or early summer 2019 and does the graduate transfer wherever he wants.

Someone did this last year I don't remember who it was but I thought they had to do it in Sept.

Yes, that is correct.
No, Eason won't leave right now.
