Yes, Auburn isn't as good as you thought they were. The Auburn secondary isn't good. Stidham is hot and cold and can't deal with pressure. Steele isn't a second half defensive coordinator. Malzahn isn't a good leader.

All of those things are true. But c'mom man. Auburn will likely beat Arkansas and A&M. They'll give Alabama and Georgia a game. Losing to this LSU team is not the end of the world as Malzahn said.

"But they lost to Troy!" Yeah, they did. And it's a completely different team now. The LSU defense completely shut down Auburn's run game in the second half and made Stidham's life hell. Danny Etling played the best game of his career and was emotionally drained after the game. DJ Chark and Russell Gage both had the games of their careers.

It was just one of those days where the underdog galvanizes and whips their dick out on the table for all to see. LSU has talent. They have as many 4 and 5 stars as Auburn. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that LSU can play some ball against one of their biggest rivals.

Just chill out. Auburn wasn't going to be a national championship contender going into this season. Neither was LSU. And that's okay.

No shame in losing to a damn strong LSU team, on the road. Keep your heads up War Eagles.

I think that most of the rational Auburn fans knew that coming into the season. The biggest thing that Auburn fans have issue with is that this same coaching philosophy seems to rear its head every season - start out white hot in a game and then just completely bog down in the second half. I can understand that when something was working in the first half, you try to keep doing it in the second, but when you realize that the other team has adjusted and you aren't being successful, you have to make some adjustments as well.

I think the other thing that has Auburn fans flummoxed is that this is one of the more well rounded teams to go into Baton Rouge in the last few years. Yes, LSU has some great players, but I think that most LSU fans would admit that this year's team isn't as good as a lot of the ones you have fielded the past six or eight years. If we couldn't get a win in Tiger Stadium this year, when does that curse get broken?

I've literally told them all season long they weren't very good, up until the night before kickoff. I never understood what they were seeing. I thought they were top 25 good but not too 10.

It's not LSU, it's not Coach O. Congrats on the win. It's the frustration with Gustav. We hoped him and Rhett's break-up would get the offense going again, but nothing has changed. He gets ahead then tucks his dick between legs. You know this already.

For some reason they thought beating Ole Miss and Missouri meant they were a good team and everything was fixed. It was all a Lie.

Easy to blame on the coaches. What about the players?

catastrophe syndrome is rampant in the b6, losses are hard to handle for major programs and the overreactions from the base are to be expected.

that being said, UT and UF are on the way out but i don't see them being replaced. b4 it is with aub on the bubble.

Auburn's offense should've performed even better in the first half. The two huge plays on the screen and long bomb to Hastings were big but there was also a two huge passes from Stidham that got them into FG range but the offense stalled whether it be from the defense bowing up or penalties.

The LSU defense got punched in the jaw in the first quarter and started playing a lot better in the second quarter and were even better in the second half.

It's not like Auburn has been losing at Jordan Hare. LSU should've lost in 2012. This is a home team series between two evenly matched programs. Until one or the other pulls away with recruiting it'll be the same thing.

Auburn’s defense gave up, what, 6 points in the second half?

Aside from that, I don’t remember any Auburn fans considering us world beaters. We acknowledged that we hadn’t played anybody strong and we knew Gus Malzahn’s issues would pop up against when we played a team with similar athletes. This is an every year thing. It always happens against LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, or any other P5 Team. It’s always going to happen while he’s at Auburn. I told Auburn fans not to count this as a definite win before the game with good reason. It was never going to be a blowout.

ETA: When I say “we”, I am referring to a rational fan.

Yes, they have to share some of the blame for execution, but the coaches are ultimately responsible.

With the injuries on the offensive line, I want to say Auburn was back to the same starting 5 as the first couple of games of the season. That lineup obviously isn't as good - then another lineman gets hurt. If your line is now certainly weaker, why are you still calling pass plays that require the QB to hold the ball (and the line to protect longer)? Why not a change to shorter routes, giving the D-line less time to get pressure?

Y'all were celebrating beating up on Ole Miss and Mizzou. The entire fanbase is irrational. They finally played another defense with a pulse like Clemson.

It isn't just about this game. Steele wasn't able to adjust after halftime in 2015 as well.

Definitely not a bad football team but they were definitely not worthy of #10 ranking

Oh well, looks good on the LSU resumé

He has been able to adjust in 2016 and 2017 and that’s all I care about.

I don’t care what happened at LSU.
