Would you rather live in Athens or Red Stick?

It's an interesting thing to think about. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, Sigmund.

What we have here is an insecure opinion stated as a question by someone unable to accept anything less than complete validation.

I think the money situation makes UGA slightly better.

At the moment, working for Joe Alleva...or his unknown successor...is a negative when comparing the two. It's hard to call LSU the better job right now when even LSU fans seem to agree that you would be working for the village idiot. And if and when he gets fired, who's to say that his replacement wouldn't be an a-hole?
When you consider one job over another, how many of us wouldn't consider who our boss would be? Right now, advantage Georgia.
This is the only correct answer at the moment. When comparing these two jobs it’s all about timing. Both are top tier jobs. When Saban left LSU was obviously the better job. Right now with so much at LSU being uncertain it gives UGA the edge at the moment. Not sure why this is a topic because Kirby isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

In some ways Georgia and in some ways LSU.
Louisiana has the highest NFL talent per capita in the country battling it out often every year with Mississippi and South Carolina and usually coming out on top. However, Georgia often isnt far behind. I think what gives LSU a slight edge here is that they have no in-State competition for those recruits like UGA has(GTech) and their State doesnt get ravaged as much by out-of-state schools like the State of Georgia does.
Also, those LA recruits are more loyal to LSU than GA recruits are to UGA. That wasnt always the case but it has been since DiNardo/Saban to LSU and Richt to GA, respectively.
One big plus for Georgia is that while the per capita numbers favor LA for percentage of recruits the overall numbers greatly favor GA because Georgia is just a much more populous State. 4 million to 10.3 million.
Id say fan and facility support is probably about even between the schools.
Ive always thought both schools were sleeping giants and could never understand why they werent more successful. Both schools should dominate their respective divisions and see each other in the SECCG nearly every year. It goes to show how much coaching matters.
I know a lot of people have been downvoted for pointing this out but playing in the East certainly gives GA an edge at least lately. Of course that can change in the future as the East has been really dominate in certain eras.

That's the purpose of per capita stat. It takes into account the population disparity.

What money situation? LSU had the highest paid coaching staff in the nation for like the last 3 years. Its also one of like only 3 or 4 public universities to run a surplus in the athletic department and actually donates money to the academic budget.

Pretty equal except Georgia being a better place to live overall

You still didn't answer my question. You're just trying to get a reaction out of LSU fans with your dumbass question. Breaking news, LSU has been a much better program than UGA the last decade, stop being so insecure. This board has enough dipshits, so move along.

Which is a better job, Troy or LSU?

Right. When the question is, "where is the most likely place to find good talent." Thats not the question here so that answer has a different value to this question. One needs to consider the reach a school has in the recruiting area and total numbers come into play there.

This is really subjective and depends on what you value. If its jobs, money and infrastructure then its GA and not close. If its outdoors, fun, socializing, food, culture, etc. then its LA and not close. Although Athens certainly > Baton Rouge.

LSU for the same reason it's a better job than Georgia.

Both are located in states rich with talent (although Georgia is slightly better)
The thing with UGA, though, is they have a lot more competition for their talent, like from AU and UT for instance. LSU has traditionally locked down the state of LA (with a few recruits here and there slipping out). UGA has never "locked down" the state of GA.
