I'm not knocking UGA, I just think you are underestimating how putrid UT is and even though MSU felt like a big game they've been exposed badly as well. They barely won against the one decent team they played and even that team was 4-8 last year.

It's not your fault the East is terrible and you're doing what you should do to bad teams and I would be pumped if I were a UGA fan as well but you still don't have a QB that your coaches totally trust and those teams I mentioned didn't have any of those issues except for the head scratching loss each year to an average team.

ND is 5-1 with 5 blowouts. It might be time to move past the 4-8 thing.

The thing is that there isn't much that those 02-07, 12 teams did better than this one. They weren't any better (and were usually worse) defensively, they didn't run the ball as well, maybe had a more developed passing game, but it's not like David Greene was chucking the ball all over the yard. 07 and 12 were much more explosive offensively but also much worse defensively.

With Eason back, Fromm wouldn't be starting if they didn't trust him.

Your memory of those early uga teams seems quite limited. It's exaggerating the positives while downplaying the negatives, and doing the opposite for 2017.

I'm not saying I'm in any sort of disagreement about your take on this (I actually think you're giving a pretty level-headed assessment), but I really get tired of the Notre Dame was the only "decent" team played and they were "4-8 last year" spiel.

I think it's time to start admitting that this year's Notre Dame team is a better team than last year's. They've already surpassed last year's win record, so it's not really even debatable. What they do moving forward will be interesting since Wimbush was injured and didn't play last week. Not sure if Ian Book has more potential or what, but it will be of interest to see where they end up. Up to this point, though, they are definitely a better team than they were last year and it's time to put that to bed.

I get what you're saying, I do. And if I was a rival fan I'd see it through that same lens. But you've gotta realize that UGA teams over the past 4 or 5 years have played putrid to average teams as well and gone deep into the 4th, whereas this team is pummeling people for entire games. We are also fielding what could statistically be on pace for our best defense in history. Of course it's too early to write the book on 2017 UGA yet, the hardest team(s) on our schedule are still yet to come, but you've gotta admit this team just looks and feels different than former ones.

And as an aside, I think it's time to retire the whole "notre dame was 4-8 last year" shtick. This isn't 2016 anymore, it's 2017. This ND team has been on cruise control on offense and have beaten everyone they've played (including on the road against current media darling MSU) other than us. If you take away their lone loss to us and they could be ranked around 10th. That win is one of the better OOC wins all season in the SEC.
