Mutt, I know several attorneys all around Jefferson County. Where are you from? Also where does the ticket show the court is being held (Louisville, Wrens, Wadley)?

Do you know Mike Hostilo?
I want to pitch some new commercial ideas to him and hit it rich.

My wife and I live in Snellville. My son is in college at East Georgia and playing baseball. The court is Louisville.

I've been to Swainsboro twice, I honestly never knew there was a college there.

Send me an email to ugastreaker@gmail.com.
ETA: no I don't know Mike Hostillo. Pretty sure he just chases ambulances.

During breaks, he'll just have to sit his arse in his dorm room or hitch rides with friends.
Also sounds like he needs to get a part time job to pay off his speeding ticket and court fees.

I got a 77 in a 55 in the same county when I was in college. Had a family friend who knew the prosecutor get it to 69 with paying the full fine and going to defensive driving school. So it is possible if you know the right people

If we come up with a new commercial idea for Hostilo, he might agree to represent muttensein's kid for free!
Deep rig, get out the Casio and work on a tune. Peter, you're on jingle lyrics. Everyone else start working on script ideas. Tarzan and barstools, go wag fingers at stuff.

"I don't have to learn a lesson from this, my daddy is gonna fix it up real good for me with a lawyer"
Make him start paying his own insurance too. Get him off the rolls.
Sell his car.
Having his license suspended for 6 months will be the least of his worries.

That can't be what they're protesting. The NFL is 75% black.
That's why it could be what they are protesting. A majority of blacks don't like the white privilege.

Good call. 25% of NFL is white. That's too much privilege. Got to get that number down!

Ask to enter a guilty plea to a lesser charge. Remember, they just want your money. You don't want this to cause your insurance to sky rocket. Most courts will work with you as long as they get paid.
Excellent advice - start the driving school THIS week if you can, they are going to make him do it anyway and bringing certification of the completed course will likely help mitigate the damages
You need to make sure it is a state approved course. You may also want to make your son log some community service, you should be able to get him plugged in at a local church (to serve food to the needy, volunteer at a local school to pick up trash or do yard work, etc) I would make sure he has at least 20 hours, 25 or 30 would be better
Other than logging some community service, the only other advice I can give you is see if you can get the DA to accept a "nolo contendere" plea
A nolo may save headaches in insurance and his license
Good luck

Nolo won't help on the insurance.
Getting the speed reduced is the only goal there (as another has said... pay the full fine but accept a reduced speed if that is what it takes)

Wonder if you could use creativity to avoid lawyer's fees as well as a big fine by suggesting to the judge that your son work a weekend with a highway cleanup crew for every mile over the speed limit he went.
Guarantee he'll never speed again and isn't that the point.

White privilege doesn't happen within the NFL.

Ha!
Nope. Speeding fines are designed to provide revenue.
If jurisdictions were serious about speeding, fines would be $10,000 and nobody would ever speed, and the departments would go bankrupt.

I thought they were protesting against white privelage. Tell me what they are doing it for.
Anyways, I know first hand at that very courthouse. I got a big break because I was a white college kid. The poor blacks were getting drilled by the judge.
What a load of shite. Go find a cactus to hug.

hope your son learns from this. My son is 20 and has had multiple tickets as soon as he (I) paid the super speeder fine the suspension was lifted. He needs to beg to have the ticket reduced if he takes a defensive driving class
