I really want Kelly to be the UT coach. He doesn't like to recruit and his offense is starting to get figured out as defenses adjust. That offense will gain yards but how many national titles did he win while dominating the west coast for those four seasons that he was there?

My money is on Jim Bob Cooter

Not so sure Kelly's success at Oregon would automatically mean success in the SEC. It sure didn't work in the NFL. Other coaches are learning this like Bert. Personally I'd rather have BmfP.

This! How could UT turn down the chance to hire a favorite son named Jim Bob Cooter?

Chip could be very good, or crash and burn. I feel Stoops coming honestly. No reason. Just a hunch. He knows how to coach is the best hire on the list to me. Guy knows how to get it done.

He was at Oregon, a program that has done jack shite before him.
4 BCS bowl games in 4 seasons, and happened to run into the greatest college QB of this millenium in the natty.
Teams haven't figured out how to stop HIS offense, just like they haven't figured out how to stop Clemson's. These shitty knockoffs that have become so prevalent (a la BUTCH) have been figured out.

He lost to Lsu as well. His offense worked in the PAC. Whole different style of play.

So what you all are saying is Chip = Butch?

Yeah, when LSU was an elite team, he lost to them.
The only team that would have success stopping that offense now is Bama and maybe Auburn. Florida and LSU don't play defense anymore, Georgia likely will be solid going forward, after that it's 8 of the softest p5 teams you'll find on defense. He would feast on this dogshit conference

I would take lane kiffins odds as many times as anyone wants.
I will bet $100 to win a dollar from as many people who want to sign up at my website.
Zero chance he gets the job back.

DING DING DING
Chip is still the only coach since the start of the BCS era to make it to the national championship without a top 10 crooting class on the roster.
Imagine what he could do with the goons he would get with VOLS

As much as he hates recruiting, in state talent has exploded to the point that he could have classes on the periphery of the top 10 without even traveling 4 hours away from Knoxville. Keep a competent staff of recruiters around him and it'd be game over

We have the personnel for Kelly to win immediately. I don't think he'll run the exact same offense he did at Oregon but it would be very similar and it's effective as hell. The thing about Kelly is whether or not he even wants to come here. He's never coached in the South and seems to be a West Coast guy.

Offshore, meaning a pond on some TN fan's property?
