I have stated from post #1, that what Auburn was doing has nothing to do with getting a competitive advantage. It's actually the opposite. We were paying our two best players to leave.
Dude, logic would indicate that if the AU coach was paying players to leave Auburn, then it wouldn't be out of his character to induce them with some little something to come to Auburn.

Bruce was a decent coach prior to his stint in NCAA purgatory, Auburn is a fine place with top shelf facilities, etc.....But Auburn wasn't pulling this kind of talent before the PTB at Auburn pushed Chuck on Bruce and made him hire him on his staff.

These are your top 2 players mixed in this federal mess. The NCAA will investigate the back end of it and get to the bottom of the recruitment of those top players. It's not going to be pleasant around the Plains for a while.

haha what the frick

Bruce is the draw, he was the biggest hire in AU basketball history, and it was big time CBB news when he returned to the game

Person is a good recruiter, and perhaps it comes out he paid recruits, but your causation theory is absolutely batshit insane

Also, one of the players is a double Auburn legacy who came to Auburn during one of the most optimistic periods in Auburn basketball history. It's not exactly an "Ole Miss suddenly getting 5 star talent with a high school coach" situation.

You, like other people, are trying to connect dots that aren't there. The FEDS just busted Louisville for buying a player. Did the FEDS bust Auburn for buying a player?

No. You weren't paying them to leave. You were paying your two best players to use certain representation when they did leave. They're all temporary. Every one of them. They all leave. The best ones leave sooner, and as you said, these were your two best ones.

I know Auburn fans are doing their best to spin this as something that doesn't help Auburn, but the reality is that top recruits would clearly be able to see that if they go to Auburn, the coaching staff could hook them and their families up with cash down the road if they are pro prospects.
