A quick google says they tend to be protective and guarded around strangers. With how strong they are, maybe not a great combo to have thousands of kids pet and take pictures with it.

ETA: Not as extreme as a pitbull, but you can't have any incidents if you can help it.

All kidding aside, people who have never handled one could never imagine how strong a bulldog is. They look chunky and clumsy, but they are scary powerful
