"I learned a lot of Auburn characteristics and being an Auburn man"

This was a quote from Byron Cowart in Brandon Marcello's story on the Auburn 247 site. He talked with Byron for 20 minutes while Byron was driving home to Florida today.
My question is what exactly are these characteristics of being an Auburn man, and how are they different/superior to other manly characteristics?

It is too complex for your simple little gump mind to comprehend. Move along.

The Creed. It's helps fuel their internal belief that they are somehow superior. It's classic overcompensation. Similar to how Ole Miss people try to project an image of wealth despite being in one of the poorest and most uneducated states.

These people somehow managed to get brainwashed into believing that they are morally superior to everyone else because they love their University - as if that's a quality that sets them apart from anyone else.

It is too high of a bar that has been set. If it was shared here many would call it unattainable. They would be right except for the exceptional men that come through Auburn.
Seal Team 6 quality. The best of the best if you will.

It's really in the details
try not to shoot your kid after your team loses and he asks to borrow the car, try not to murder your friend after your team loses and she's not sad enough, don't try to frame mentally handicapped kids after you stab a bunch of people, etc.

Essentially, have a University so mired in mediocrity that it keeps the trashy bandwagon fans out.
The only people who love Auburn are the ones who graduated there, supposedly, and that's something that Auburn fans have somehow managed to turn into a pretentious boastful feather in their cap.

Can't believe I screwed that up. Wanted to be quick enough to be the first reply & completely screwed that up. FML.

How about adding not raping an auburn student on the transit bus while your friend drives the bus around. I agree with all these things, but they hardly apply to just "Auburn" men.

Go steal some saranwrap for your box. It's going to rain.

I agree, it's totally ridiculous to be prideful about attending a school for several years that matches your value system and thinking yourself better for it
Justified pride only comes when guys you've never met GIT.R.DONE out on that gridiron. When I look down and see that the symbol on my (Antigua, this is Alabama we're talking about) polo matches the symbol on that jersey, baw, I tell you. I swell up.

All of my examples were directly related to individuals' Alabama loyalty.
You should have gone with the felonious 4 armed robbery, it's not perfect, but it would have been better.

Tim Cook is the face of Auburn alumni and his and my value system are light years apart.

I really don't care what example you think I should have gone with. Just admit there is nothing special about the values learned from Auburn University. That's great that you love your university and support it, but come on it isn't in any way morally superior.
