Don't kid yourself, we have a larger percentage of that type of moron at UGA
The boy that got himself shot had been suicidal for years & that cop should face zero repercussions
I will be interested to see how this plays out when the cop gets acquitted, or better, if they don't charge him with anything

I'd imagine antifa will make an appearance soon. Time to bring the terminators online and let them do their thing. Every last one.

I heard he identified as a UGA student.

Maybe they can attend the Tech v. Pitt game while in town so we can see what that stadium looks like with people in the empty seats.

If he truly called cops and reported a guy that describes himself as drunk, weilding a knife and a gun on his hip then he was looking to get killed. Kid deserved it and the parents are just making matters worse by filing a lawsuit.

Apparently the kid refused the cop commands to drop the knife and advanced. They also found suicide letters in the kids stuff which would make you think this was intentional. why are they freaking out over this?

The headline in the BBC was "police kill unarmed LBGT student".. they changed it eventually

Very Proud of what I see at GA Tech this AM
I know, UGA hated rival; blah, blah, blah
Do not care; the reaction from students at GA Tech is something everyone should emulate.
2 things:
1 - students start fundraiser to help the cops!
2 - students show up to help clean up the mess!
Imagine that! Cop does everything right & still gets sued. Riots ensue & a police car gets flipped and torched. The protesters that turned violent were mostly NOT students according to reports.
The violence ended early and DID NOT escalate.
I feel for the parents of the young man that was suicidal and confused, but I cannot support their reaction (sue and whine)
Article from AJC - actual heartwarming story & worth the read - Georgia Tech student launches fundraiser to aid campus cops

Because they see police kill someone seemingly marginalized via sensationalist headlines and immediately react the way they've been conditioned to.

Or told to by the left, especially since most of these weren't students. Imagine that.

That's exactly what conditioned to means.

Doesn't even matter. The seed is already planted and the incorrect narrative will be repeated, ad nauseam.

Looks like one of the people arrested for rioting was an Employee of Tech.

How come they all look the same ?

Cops could've handled it in a non-lethal way?
But yeah, the nut job kid was approaching a cop with a boxcutter ignoring commands to stop. Natural selection, 2017 style.

The problem with kids today vs back in the day is that old school folks know that you are probably going to die if you come at a cop with a weapon.
The New school kids think all this antifa and blm stuff gives them the freedom to challenge cops. Unfortunately for them, cops haven't adapted to the new mind set. They will kill your arse if you bring a weapon at them first.
Also, this kid challenged them with a lethal weapon, why do they have to use a non-lethal weapon? What if that kid stabbed a cop while the cop tazed him, then what? we are back to square 1, which is don't challenge cops with a weapon.

I get the whole "he was dumb and shouldn't have challenged the cop" thing...but let's think about this.
I know it's not going to be a popular opinion but if he had a small pocket knife - and was obviously mentally disturbed - shooting him in the chest is pretty extreme even if it is justified.
If this kid was a Tech student playing Board games I'm assuming he's not physically imposing - what the hell ever happened to pepper spray, ASP whippings, batons, etc. That's pretty excessive force unless the cop thought his life was in danger. My dad went through the LE training and he said one of the BIG deals was being absolutely sure you were in danger before pulling your trigger - but this was 30 years ago.
I'd like to think that the police can't just kill you if you appear threatening or challenge them in any way. You can learn a lesson from an arse beating....not so much from a shot in the chest.
Edit: I just read another article and he was a gay guy with a multitool.
