Alabama fans, is there any real chance that Hurts loses his position during this season?

I personally think there is no chance in hell that he loses his spot to Freshman Tua Tagovailoa or Freshman Mac Jones. I think Jalen Hurts is the one of most calm and collected QBs that I've seen in the SEC over my years of watching games. I know he may struggle to pass the ball downfield but I don't think y'all win the LSU game last year if it wasn't for him, Bateman or Barnett would have been eaten alive.

I remember one part of the FSU game specifically, I think it was right after y'all got a turnover in FSU's territory. Jalen was rolling out to his right, it was either a designed rollout pass or a designed run to the right. Any way he was stopped well behind the line, he got up smiling and shaking his head. He knew FSU was fricked if they scored on that drive or not.

He seems like a great leader, doesn't seem much for words but his actions speak louder than any words.

Doubt it unless he starts turning the ball over en masse

Here's the thing, he hasn't played well against good opponents, but, he hasn't needed to outside of the Clemson game, which was a Loss. He can play as poorly as he does, but as long as Bama's defense shuts down other team's offenses, they'll still win and probably wont replace him.

If FSU moved the football and scored more, and say maybe pulled off a 21-17 win and Hurts performed exactly the same as he just did, there would start to be a lot more talk of replacing Hurts.

Hurts really didn't have much time to throw nor many open receivers to throw to.

Not in every instance for sure. He really didn't make many bad throws.

The fact that Hurts had zero turnovers shows you that he's improved, despite the raging negaBammers we have around here.

There's always a chance. Is it likely? Doubtful.

Almost zero. He needs improvement, but he'd have to regress further to lose his job. I don't see that happening.

Even if the thought was for change at QB, no one else is ready.

Tua shows great potential, but needs to improve decision making, according to many who witnessed the scrimmages. His turnovers would cause Saban to have a heart attack.

He is lucky we only have freshmen behind him. We almost won it all last year with a freshman that is a below average passer. We might would do even better behind another true freshman that is an above average passer.

Don't think he will ever be accurate. Can't teach that

Is Tagovailoa going to be willing to ride the bench for three more years until Hurts' available runs out?

Jalen is being unfairly criticized for the Florida State game. When given time he hit his receivers. Bama quit throwing in the fourth quarter with good reason. This is a new OC and will take time to gel. Bama was not going to go in and throw the ball all over the place against one of th best secondaries in CFB. Bama failed to simply pick up blitzes when all FSU did was walk Derwin James up to the LOS. There were no hot routes or for that matter we seem to still forget we have TE. Jalen needs to improve but he didn't turn the ball over and he never threw a bad pass into coverage either. He will get better. The offense will gel and by midway through the season I expect to see a more than adequate offense to complement a great defense.
