He's done a great job recruiting, just not a good coach.

Can't believe a program like Tennessee gives a guy a fifth year that hasn't even won the east.

Pathetic

You must've gone to a really weird middle school.

Very accurate assessment.

This was Roll Tide Dave's final gift. Hopefully new AD John Currie holds the standards a little higher. IMO anything short of winning the East and 10 wins should be grounds for the axe.

Hard to argue with you. I've remained optimistic and tried to grind it out because I wanted it to work out for the guy. Largely in part because I didn't want to go through our 5th coaching change in the last decade, but it's painfully obvious that Butch isn't the guy to get Tennessee back into the small group of elite teams throughout the country. He's a slightly above average coach who would do well at a smaller school with lower expectations, but he's not built for a top 10-15 program. Really a shame too because Tennessee has everything that you could possibly need to sustain a highly successful program.

-Tradition
-Giant Fan base
-Top Facilities
-Huge uptick in instate recruiting (Nearly 20 4* composites in the 2019 class)

Dudes in game management is so cringe worthy at times that I'm getting mad typing this.

You should pay attention did you not see the can and the motivation it inspired? That alone should merit and extension with a handsome increase in salary. Now get behind your guy, I know the rest of the league is.

If you saw what the players and coaches get to eat you would gain weight too.

Why do coaches always get fatter? You rarely see one like the Colorado coach that loses a ton of weight

Looks to me like ole Butch has also been hitting the bottle quite a bit. The red nose and cheeks.
