It is a terrible thing that happened. Prayers to the mourning family. But let us not blame guns but the hand and corrupt heart that did it. Millions of gun owners never contemplate such an action but on the contrary use them responsibly.

Hey bud you brought it up in the first place. I'm done talking about my rights.

I just said that I wished guns were never invented and you responded with your Liberty/Freedom drivel. Of course you have the right to get shot and killed just like anyone else living in this country. Odds are that you will never, ever see the bullet coming.

If you don't believe in the constitution of the United States, and have a problem living under it you should seriously consider gtfo and move to Australia. There are no private guns allowed. You would fit right in.

Wow. Prayers and thoughts to them. That is horrible, and no parent should have to bury their child.

Well, maybe you should move to a country without any rights for their citizens.

So do other things, such as wars, medical malpractice, prescribed drugs, radiation & chemotherapy treatments, toxic pollutants, artificial sweeteners, food additives, the standard american diet, alcohol...

Think about what I said. 20% of the US population suffers from some form of mental illness. 1 out of 5 people that you work with, your kids go to school with, who cheer in the stands at a football game. Do you really want them to have a gun??? The majority of these murders are from people that are mentally ill. A crime of passion is someone undergoing a psychotic event. There is a direct correlation between Terrorism/radicalism and mental illness. Shooting and killing someone is not a natural occurrence.

We all have rights but why should we have the right to be killed by someone else? You have a much better chance being killed by some nut than you will ever have of protecting yourself with your gun. I am not talking about banning guns. I'm talking about trying to come up with real solutions. I own guns but my family has also been the victims of gun violence. I wonder if any of you have had to personally deal with the subject? I don't care if you tell me to frick off. It's a natural response to think this is an isolated instance and you and your family are perfectly safe. I just hope you never have to deal with what this family is dealing with now. All they are left with are questions.

By the standards of this board, I am very liberal and have very strong feelings about guns.

But this thread is not the place for that discussion.

Thoughts and prayers for the Locksley family and may they somehow find comfort and peace during this horrific time.

Let's leave the gun debate for another day.

I'm very conservative and I also have a strong (yet different) feelings about guns. The family is grieving and can use the thoughts and prayers of everyone. A gun discussion should never enter a football thread.
