I for one am ok with this. Get this guy some reps in. He's not going to learn when he doesn't play. If that was the case, Eason would've sat the bench last year for Georgia. Now that he has some SEC play under his belt, I believe Georgia will be a much better team for it. It sucks he sprained his knee in week one however.

Best news Ive heard all day.

The whole offense needs a warm up before we hit the real comp of the SEC.

Yeah, maybe week 2 he will be able to show what he can do. I'm still kinda glad he started against Michigan. Hey got a taste of the big time. It's humbling. Now get out there, make the adjustments and let it fly.

He shouldn't have been pulled in the first place.

Honestly, I think the pressure did get to him a little -- he wasn't fielding the snaps very well, he fumbled a handoff and had an unforced fumble trying to make a play. The problem is that by protecting him, you're making it worse. I understand why they did it -- they didn't want him to feel responsible but in the end...

It's part of being a quarterback. Tom fricking Brady makes some bonehead throws and fumbles it from time to time, it's just a part of growing up.

I'm happy that Finch and I are on the same page, however, that they have officially decided to go with Franks. Looked better than Zaire and Del Rio obviously just wants to be an assistant coach.

Well No Co would be a cakewalk I hope.

Not pulled? Are you guys blind? 3 points and a 100 yd first half, just remember we scored 2 TDs via defense.

Now Zaire is not the answer down two scores.

Be prepared for an awful season while Franks takes his lumps....well FANS better learn to take their lumps too.

Finch giving praise and Reel basically saying hang it up, what in the hell is going on here?

There is no reason to give up on a season because we had one bad game. Franks showed how young he was, but that doesn't mean he can't improve. He was playing a pretty good Michigan team that was gelling behind a shite line. At least now the coaches can adjust and gameplan for the line being poor (they've never seemed to do it in the past, which is worrying) and Franks doesn't need to look over his shoulder every play.

He WAS, however, cracking under the pressure, and I agree with sacrificing Zaire to the wolves and saving Franks some hits.

Yeah, I don't care if we are "awful" record wise while Franks takes his lumps.

I just want us to go down swinging, as opposed to us cowering in a corner handcuffing our entire offense.

Thats the thing. Was Franks really cracking under pressure? I mean the OL stepped on him twice.

The coaches called 2 rollout pass plays to his LEFT? (WTF???!!!!)

He hit on a couple deep balls, and Michigan defenders made tremendous plays on some others.

His only mistake was that he was too loose with the ball, which is a freshman mistake.

The coaches really didn't let him do anything

I thought he did fine. Didnt look rattled to me for being held down by play calls.

He shouldn't have been pulled permanently. Didn't mind a change of pace, but he should have been put back in. For a kid playing his first game against an opponent like UM and in a place like Jerry World, he looked fine.

I do think he should be taking snaps in pistol or shotgun almost exclusively. No need to go under center, but that also goes to some issues we have scheme-wise.

I agree, pistol and shotgun will eliminate the line incidentally tripping him. If it wasn't for their ineptness, they wouldn't get pushed back almost immediately.

He fumbled a handoff and fumbled with benign contact, man. You can't fumble for no reason at this level, at least not twice in one game. Two unforced fumbles is bench-worthy, in my opinion.

EVERYONE in the media disagrees that Franks wasn't getting shellshocked. It probably wouldn't have mattered who we trotted out there with our OL. But it was obvious that Franks hasn't grown into his body yet, almost 6'6 and 227 means he is skinny and not exactly that graceful running.

Mac knows he has another year and is pinning his hopes to the young gunslinger. Teams are going to blitz him a lot to rattle him. Hopefully by mid season Franks will settle down.
