Bo Scar and Pettway are on totally different levels talent wise
Yeah, one lead the SEC in yards per game played and the other stays hurt.

Kam Pettway played in 9 games and ran for over 100 yards 7 times. He ran for over 150 yards 5 times. Bo Scarborough ran for over 100 yards 2 times in 13 games. And Kam Pettway did all of this without a threat at quarterback for most of the season. Bo Scarborough benefitted from having Jalen Hurts in as a dual threat to keep the ball on the read option or just to run in general.

Kam Ram Bubba Pettway > Bo Scarborough

DWI, bitches.

I'm sorry, if Washington and Clemson are poor rush defenses, care telling me what Arkansas State, Texas A&M, Miss St, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy and Oklahoma are?

Hint, worse than Washington and Clemson.

Can't wait for Bubba to destroy the turds of the SEC punchbowl again and magically come up lame before facing the big boys.

"Who we got next? Georgia and Alabama?????"

Somebody taught him brand marketing. Prop those stats up against the disabled and don't risk it against the monsters. Sad, but good for the stats.

Respect

Bawwwwww

We shall see. It always ends up being a near the end of the season decision. In all likelihood yes. And in all likelihood it will be some worst version of the Kick 6.

Not cool baw

How many carries per game did each player average? TIA.

Didn't Kam Pettway have like 12 yards rushing in the Iron Bowl last year.

Hint, Clemson isn't one of the teams he rushed for over 100 against.

Ah yes, only 93 on 16 carries.

Washington was 10th in rush defense per S&P+. 180 yards on 19 carries and 2 TDs, with a QB throwing at the accuracy level of Jeremy Johnson.

Arkansas State - 35th
Texas A&M - 47th
Vanderbilt - 54th
Mississippi State - 56th
Ole Miss - 62nd
Arkansas - 87th

So Bo isn't proven because 1 of his 100 yard games was against a trash rush defense. Yet, that trash run defense is 25 spots in front of the best of the defenses Kam put 100 on. And it was a Sun Belt team. The best P5 team was 35 spots lower. Kam has never had a big game against a good run defense. Ever.

If I'm playing Mississippi State or Vanderbilt I'll take Kam. If I'm playing a top 20 team I'll take Bo. Stats agree.

He is the king of padding stats vs shitty defenses. The Drew Lock of running backs.

When he was hurt and Auburn didn't have a QB? Probably.

Bo is 3rd string at Bama 1-D. Harris 2-J.Jacobs 3-Bo. You will see him in the 4th quarter.

So who were the good defenses he played against healthy ?
Using rushing Defense stats is your typical why of skewing facts. How many of those bad rushing Defenses become average when they know they do not have to defend the pass ?

He played LSU last season and averaged less than 4.0 YPC. So your point is he's untested then?

Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State weren't good at defending the rush ever any. I think you know that.

The same LSU Defense that Bo gained 52 yards.
Gus was still using Pettway as a FB at that point in the season.

On 11 carries. He averaged 4.7 YPC against a team that gave up 3.3 per game.

Kam had 61 yards on 17 carries. He averaged 3.6 YPC.

So your point is that Kam is unproven against good defenses, then. I can accept that.

Also! Bo wasn't first string, or even second. Just realize his yards this year as the premier guy will look a lot different. If he stays healthy if not Harris, Jacobs, or Harris will get a 1000.

Bo had a All-American RT he ran behind for most of his yards. But I do not see much of a difference between the two LSU stats.

My point is Gus didn't know what he had in Pettway as a RB. Kam fit the perfect mode as a FB in Gus's plans last year, it wasn't until Johnson got hurt did he realize what he had. AU climbed to #9 in the polls on the back of Pettway. He made it possible for White to be an effective QB. The UGA and Bama Games proved my points.
