It seemed like there was a lot of excitement around the hire, but I haven't seen much since then. I believe he's working with the TE's - think I read that. I realize he's just an analyst, but seems like he'll be a real asset when it comes time for game planning.

Has anyone heard anything? Do we have anyone who's heard anything out of the team about him?

I

I've personally always liked Borges and thought he was a very good offensive mind. He was probably too west coast for Tubs but his offense should mesh with Malzahn's well in terms of his input. He knows how to use tight ends and has always been a good quarterback coach. I think he could be a hugely great asset to the offense.

Nobody really knows what his role is. Is he drawing up plays and helping gameplan? Or just sitting around and giving his 2 cents every now and then? Does Gus listen to him?

You typically don't hear much about analysts

Chances are we won't ever really hear much about his impact. That's just the nature of analysts. However I like knowing someone like him is helping scout opponents each week. He wasn't perfect OC but no denying his success

He is not going to have any specific input into the offense. He is just scouting every defense we will face and coming up with potential matchups to exploit.

Lindsey is running this offense.

When Chip was asked, he's watching film, learning the offense, and just a funny guy to be around.

Sounds like his role is similar to a GA, except AU is paying him around $120,000/year.

Chip's comments on Borges.

With the RB's, WR's, and the QB that AU has this year I would love to have his offense back from 2004. Also, with the front 7 AU has I would love to have Tubs' D back as well.

Let the shite slinging and down votes commence
