What is the tailgating experience like for an LSU game? Do they have any specific rules. I'm an LSU fan and would like to set up my own tailgate. Do they allow speakers, grill etc...

We tailagate AFTER the game. And we don't use tents so don't worry about that. You're welcome ^

It's the best of all of the SEC, IMO. Yall come out in big numbers and generally are in good moods and are good to be around folks.
There is a website put out by UA concerning "rules" of tailgating. Just google it. But basically you can tailgate anywhere, except some obvious areas.

Alabama/LSU games are by far the most fun tailgating games. LSU people show up, have a great time, everybody is positive and fun and enjoying each others company. It's basically the opposite of the rant.

About as good as any other school except food not quite the quality of LSU games. I mean...its Louisiana. The food there will beat anyone else.

I must be the only person that really doesn't care for Cajun food. Just not my cup of tea. However, Popeye's IS the best fast food chicken chain.

Truth. I've tailgated in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Baton Rouge, Gainesville, Starkville, Tallahassee, Nashville (if you can really call it tailgating at a Vandy game), and a few smaller schools. LSU was awesome.

So shrimp and grits, gumbo, jambalaya, boudin, etouffé, etc....none of that gets u going?
Not to mention Louisiana does roast pig and sausage better than everyone else too.

I had probably the most fun I've ever had tailgating in Tuscaloosa for GOTC Part I... but, I was with a great group of LSU fans.
That being said, I had a great time in Tuscaloosa. Bama fans were nothing but friendly and welcoming. As with many fan bases it's mostly the sidewalkers, bandwagoners, and rednecks who can't afford to go to games who really suck.
ETA: Except Florida fans. Games in Gainesville are the fricking worst.

Couldn't of said it better, LSU and Bama fans Don't hate each other. It's a common respect and budding tradition of great games on the national stage.

We were given shite the last two times we went for parking our vehicle close to our tailgate spot to unload all the stuff. We had one small trailer and 6 guys and it would have only taken maybe 10-15 minutes to unload. We couldn't even pull into the parking garage close by because we didn't have a parking pass for this area. This was the Friday before mind you, and not game day. It was university employees with badges riding around on golf carts. Completely unreasonable. The day of tailgating is always fun, and the fans are generally pretty cool, sans a few idiots here and there. Expect to sit at your tailgate after the game until traffic clears out, before trying to load your stuff back into your trailer. Even after traffic cleared out the golf cart brigade tried to stop us from pulling close to load everything and rushed us to leave the campus. We ignored them after the game and pulled close anyway, otherwise we would have had to walk a couple miles with tents, tables, pots chairs etc to load them in our trailer. The second golf cart went to the nearest campus police officer who was directing traffic at the time to get him involved, but luckily he was reasonable and allowed us to finish loading, cleaning up our trash and go on our way. One of the better away venues to visit. To be honest, the only real issue was the campus employees on a power trip.
