Yeah, I could see an argument for a defensive recruit having second thoughts, but this is about as safe a play as possible for offensive recruits.

Apparently Hamm is saying Derrick Hunter is a silent commit

Hunter 247

If true that'd be a nice addition

Sounds like BS, but that would be nice.

Any chance Nakobe Dean picks Bama, and Bama tells Christian Harris no thanks? I'd take him back with open arms.

I doubt it because I don't think Bama would have taken him if they didn't want him. They have been the favorite for Dean for a while now.

So it sounds like Carter is as good as gone. Does this help with Banks? We really need corners and linebackers. God I hate Saban.

Where you hear that? I figured with Urban retiring, Battle would flip to Bama and that would be that

I didn't hear it anywhere, as I don't have any connections. I read that an Aggie mod was saying it was expected in the next few days. It was on a bama board and was treated as fact, so I believed it. Hopefully, just my BAS kicking in. I was really hoping for Banks and Carter.

From what I understand, Jordan Battle has been close to flipping to Bama and with Urban retiring it is almost guaranteed. I also think they only plan to take one more DB so if that happens I think Carter won't have a spot. So for now, I would think we are okay unless Carter flips before Battle does.

Update on Hunter from Hamm's last employer:

On Derick Hunter
Topic Started 03:30 pm | December 4th, 2018 by Nick

Seen some chatter about the positive momentum with Derick Hunter lately. I just spoke with him and here is the latest:

›› The visit went very well at the end of last week with defensive line coach Elijah Robinson's in-home.

“The visit went well and all that stuff,” he said. “They answered all my questions. Really, between my coaches and my father, we just wanted trust. With me talking about going out-of-state, we really just wanted to make sure that I would be good out there.”

*When I spoke with him before, he made the comparison between Robinson and his own father and brought that up again today.

›› When we spoke last, he had plans to visit Alabama, Clemson and Virginia - and didn't end up taking any of those visits as spots filled at each while he finished out his season.

“The business part really kicked in,” he said. “But I still have plenty of other options.”

›› The major indication that things are in a great spot with Hunter is that Jimbo Fisher is going to see him for another in-home this Thursday. Hunter is taking an official visit to Miami this weekend, but said that he already knows his pick and is still planning to announce on the 19th.

“My mind is kind of already made up about where I’m going, I’m just really enjoying the process right now,” he said. “Believe me, I wouldn’t be going through all of this [with A&M] if they weren’t one of the teams … I’m just going to put the hats on the table. I already know which one I’m putting on, but I’m putting them on the table.”

Knock on wood we haven’t heard anything about Leal leaving. He will be a first round pick in three years I think
