The delusion of LSU fans

LSU football has finished in 3rd place or lower in the western division standings for the last 4 years in a row, yet most of their fans still think their football program is on the same level as Alabama. How delusional is that?
Ole Miss and Mississippi State have both finished in the top 2 of the western division standings more recently than LSU has. Am I he only person who finds those facts to be hilarious?

While I don't think they any longer consider themselves on the same level as Alabama, the premise of your post is spot on. Delusions of grandeur as it relates to their program runs rampant among their fanbase - seemingly moreso than those of other teams. I don't know why that's the case. Missouri has been more relevant since 2012.

Just wait til the preseason prediction thread. You wont see anything less than 10-2 from LSu fans...the majority last year had 11-1

Actually, Alabama is on a level above the vast majority of college football programs; although Clemson, Florida State, Washington, USC, Michigan, Penn State come close.
LSU actually is in the top 5 in NCAA victories since 2000, and has recorded a winning season and a bowl berth every year since then. The only programs that come close are Ohio State, Oklahoma, Boise State and Georgia............
