Not letting the Hawks off the hook:
JR Rider
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
He played well for the Hawks, but I always forget that he was there for a couple of years because of how bad they were at the time

Add in Little and Byfuglien, damn we coulda been so fricking good if we had a competent ownership group.

I'm not sure where Little is, but I think Byf is still with the Jets, so I kind of included him.

quote:Crap, I somehow got his story and Damaso Garcia's mixed up - it was Esasky who was thought to have Lyme disease and forced to retire after playing in only 9 games as a Brave...Garcia blew out his knee in his first spring training in '87, whereas Esasky's troubles were in '90.
Nick Esasky
After awhile the misery of being a Braves fan kinda started to run together.

I thought Esasky had Vertigo? Or is vertigo one of the symptoms of Lyme? I don't really care enough to look it up further tho

Let's just tell random Braves stories now
I still remember the NLCS pep rally at Warren T. Jackson Elementary in 1991. We all had tomahawks, Homer came, they let us out of school early. It was lit. Kindergarten SOG was stoked. Then my dad came and got me early for Game 3 and we sat in left field. I still vividly remember (one of like 10 vivid memories of that season) Barry Bonds with his arms crossed looking up into stands pre-game while everyone did the chop.

Esasky got vertigo from an ear infection or something random didn't he?
Garcia had a brain tumor.

The Thrashers had a pretty strong squad that year they made the playoffs. That was a fun year. We probably went to 10 games or so off of free tickets due to a promotion they were running. All you had to do was simply fill out a form with a unique email address and you got 2 tickets to a game. We each had 5 or so email addresses .

Didn't Alfonseca have six fingers on his pitching hand?
