Spinoff. Choose one piece of star trek technology.

If you could have just one piece of the technology available to any of the star trek characters, which one would you choose? I personally have a hard time trying to choose. On one hand I could live out a few hundred fantasies on the holodeck but being able to replicate any food or drink would be hard to say no to. I think I would choose FTL travel.

Warp drive, easily. The other stuff is neat, particularly the transporter, but warp drive is what makes space travel possible.

My preferences:
1. Holodeck
2. Replicator
3. Warp drive
I would never use the transporter. Teleportation destroys everything and then recreates it somewhere else. People who come out of teleporters are not the same people who went in.

Beam me up Scotty! My commute to work sucks. It'd be nice to step out of the shower, get dressed, and transport myself; instead of sitting in traffic for an hour. Not to mention, how much I'd save on gas.

Replicator has to be the go to answer here IMHO. It's the reason the federation and humanity in general can focus solely on exploration and science advancement. By being able to have unlimited resources available to everyone, greed and corporate gains are removed from the infrastructure. No social or economic classes weighing anyone down. So everyone can boldly go where no man has gone before.

Yes but it puts Emeril Lagasse and all of Food Network out of business. What would we watch in between Price Is Right and Family Feud now?
