Good luck recruiting in Alabama from here on out, Dawgs.
Why force a kid who doesn't want to be there to stay and give every other coach ammunition when recruiting against you.
Makes no sense.

You are an absolute clown

We've been off probation for several years now, and the Will Redmond scandal was a joke compared to what goes on in many places. Like Auburn.

MSU is barely a glorified JUCO you fricking twat.

We aren't doing that and wouldn't do that. Sometimes the obvious answer is obvious

How did his dad sign the NLI if he isn’t the custodial parent?
That's a helluva point. If the Mom had/has legal full-custody of the kid, that means she and only she has the legal authority to sign things for him as the custodial parent.
Now the question is, IS she the legal full custodial parent? If she is, then I don't see any legal leg for MSU to stand on here.
Even if the situation legally was that they both had equal custodial oversight, then it would seem to me that the NLI is still invalid if it doesn't have the Mom's signature. Shared, equal custody does not mean one parent can do whatever they want without the consent of the other.

Completely different. Michael Porter's coach he signed to got fired.

Why would it? We're loaded at 4 so there's be a solid he'd sit a year and redshirt here anyway.

Ok, elaborate.
He requested out of his NLI. You denied.
I'm not looking for some intricate backstory.
That will be the story that gets used against Howland on the recruiting trail.

Can't restrict when you let a kid out of his LOI. We wouldn't be getting Tilmon if that were possible.
Posted on 4/11/17 at 12:53 pm to JesusQuintana
He's free to go to prep school. We just aren't going to release him from his LOI.
And I think Howland will make it. What is the negative pitch going to be? "If you sign there, and then change your mind 4 months later, Howland won't let you out of your LOI." Oh well.
Bottom line is you shouldn't get allowed to back out of your binding LOI unless a coaching change happens. No circumstances have changed since he signed. Now be a big boy and either go to State, sit out a year, or go to prep school.
He kept us from recruiting other players and took a scholarship offer away from someone that wanted to be a State. Serve your punishment.
If this was the other way, and we decided we didn't want him and denied enrollment 4 months after he signed, Howland would still be crucified.

He also requested an athletic scholarship offer to play basketball, as MSU offered. That's what voluntarily signing his name on the NLI indicates.
People will believe what they want.
If the kid wants to play next year, it should be at MSU. If he wants to go prep-school and sit a year, more power to him and I wouldn't hold it against him.

Fair enough, and I don't necessarily disagree with your stance...but it just doesn't seem worth the negativity you will receive.
