And that's all this was about, finding a willing patsy to open the door for Alabama and LSU to recruit.
Even "super Ag" Gene Stallings admitted as much.
Not the whole truth there, they wanted both in the 90's and TAMU was very interested. Last go round it is about claiming new territory and overlaps just don't pay as well. If Texas had not raised their skirts to the PAC twice and gotten blackballed by Stanford it would have been Texas long ago but that boat has sailed and will not return to the dock.
SEC are the guys that want to hang out and drink beer. Texas wants to keep telling you about how their craft beer is the greatest thing and nobody really wants to hear it, they just want to get drunk and watch sports.

I hope Texas and A&M never play again. I know plenty of Texas alums who refused to go to College Station for 30 years or more.
Tom Herman was asked about restarting the A&M series at his hiring press conference, and his response was "Who gives a damn?"

ATM and Missouri continue to be cancers for the SEC. Mike Slive hates southerners

I mean...the only thing you get from playing Texass these days in athletics is a lower SOS
Pass

Before long, SEC teams are going to be paying Texas Sun Belt money to fill holes in the schedule for a rent a win. Beating TCU, Houston, Texas Tech, SMU in sports carries more clout these days than beating Texass.
Sure... I guess that explains why the lie about "Texas backing out of the Arkansas series" continues to be perpetuated by the piggies. Anger creates delusion.

Current students don't give a shite about Texas. Games and road trips vs the likes of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, etc. are way more exciting.

Does Texas not keep pushing the date back? Yes.
Besides, aTm is a bigger draw than Texas.

True
Bigger Stadium / Attendance
Higher Ratings
And its been like that ever since the SEC. Funny how that works.

The fact remains you are still horrible without Texas
Horrible with Texas in your conference and horrible when you left

And yet we are still the bigger draw. Crazy how that works out

Horrible? Nah
Mediocre? Sure
But tu is light years away from mediocre.
Plus we've had some big years in basketball and baseball bringing home some conference titles.

For Kentucky
Would you mind Texas joining the ACC
To make the ACC much stronger and more importantly command more money from their contracts than what the SEC receives
Problem is for this group of four by denying UT they are actually helping our their rival universities if Texas decides to join the ACC

I do not see the same picture as you
Maybe I am wrong here but A&M at its best is no where close to Texas
I have been watching college football since about 1989 I have seen both universities at their top and the difference is when Texas is good they are winning championships and when A&M is good they were losing in Cotton Bowls to FSU and ND and Sugar Bowls to Ohio State

Drop the s. They won one. Which is huge, but that was the only thing separating the 2 schools if you're looking from 89 on.
As nice as that was over a decade ago. They've fired 2 coaches since, fallen way behind in facilities, and are stuck in the worst power 5 conference around. There is no light at the end of the tunnel with their poor man's Sumlin.

They're still celebrating their 3rd in the SEC West national title from 2012.

Do you really want to compare Texas basketball and Arkansas basketball the last 20 years
How about Texas baseball vs Arkansas baseball
Better yet how about Texas football vs Arkansas football the past 20 years

Bro, it was tied for 2nd. Plus you know win over the national champion, win over the Big 12 champ, heisman, and a top 5 finish. It was a nice year. And we stopped celebrating it in about 14.
