Alabama-Clemson 1&2...which was more fun to watch?

I mean, id imagine the majority of this board would obviously say the 2nd one, just because Alabama lost a heartbreaker.
But didn't the 1st have a more exciting feel to it? Huge plays left and right the entire game. Great stories behind a couple of players. A Heisman winner AND runner up. A successful onside kick.
The 2nd one was more or less the Deshaun Watson show and some late game heroics. A lot of fricking penalties too. and well, this guy:

#1 was a better played game throughout

1st one, purely for the onside kick ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Game two had the best player and team coming through clutch in the end. Game one had the lesser team stealing the game with a cheap onside kick

Depends on the individual taste.
1 had more amazing moments (the surprise onsides kick, etc) whereas 2 came down to the final play. 1 was more back and forth throughout whereas 2 featured a slight comeback.
Regardless neutral parties got treated to two amazing games.

The one where Bama lost

The second one because bama lost a heartbreaker. Also the state of Alabama probably had a good amount of wife beaters put in jail over those next couple of days. Bama loss/redneck Walmart bama fans in jail.... win win for the USA ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconusaflagsmiley.gif)

First one was a better game but the second was more satisfying- life seldom works out like a Sports Movie so when it does its kind of cool.

As a whole, the second game was more fun.
However, the onside kick and kickoff return in the first game were great highlights, especially when Dabo went apeshit during the onside kick.

Honestly I'd rank Alabama-Clemson 1 as only the 4th most satisfying Alabama NC to watch in the last 8 years.

I assume most people will say #2 since Alabama lost, but the first game was full of so many big plays and momentum changes that I think it was a far more exciting back and forth game. This year's just kinda trudged through until the last few minutes.

p. A successful onside kick.
CLemson had a successful onside kick this year, after scoring the winning TD.

I'll pick the first one, and it has nothing to do with who won or lost. If we're talking pure entertainment from watching the top two teams in the country play for all the marbles, the first one wins in a walk because -- and I image many of y'all aren't going to agree about your current player -- it was absolutely painful to watch Hurts try to get an offense going. He was just awful, and ultimately the viewer was just hoping Hurts wouldn't try to pass because the result was almost never going to be pretty. So it didn't feel like watching the two best teams playing, it felt like watching one team implode because their quarterback just couldn't handle the spotlight from the biggest stage of his career thus far. It just wasn't fun to watch from a football fan's perspective.
