Maybe not you, Gene. But, I've heard some in our fanbase claim that running off Coleman was the worst thing that CAJ has done here, or that He's much better than Jr., or that we would have won several more games this season if he was on the roster. All of which are ridiculous. Recognizing a player's limitations is not the same thing as hatred.

It was at best a questionable move given the lack of need to do it

2017- Depth problems: Bama only had 2 PGs in Jr + Ingram who was on double duty elsewhere. If an injury happened to either, Bama would have been Fd hard.

Also, Ingram would be better used alongside AveryJr as 2nd ball handler not as a PG substitute

2018- See below, but he could have given an acceptable ~10min + some injury depth at worst

or that He's much better than Jr.,

Keep in mind we are comparing bench players here but Coleman is a better PG than Jr.

Shooting: slight edge Coleman, Avery is near Coleman Bama shooting levels whike Coleman was a great shooter last season even vs top competition

PG Skills (Handling/assists): Clearly Coleman was #11 natl in assist rate, was #17 SEC as SO

Defense/Rebounding: Push, neither player is great at either

I'll admit, people get stupidly hung up on a role player forced out.

I'd point out you are doing the same if not worse on the opposite side of the spectrum

that's not a controversial statement, though

Besides, you're the one bringing him up. Most others have seemed to move on. Give it a rest.
