I really hate that Carroll is around LSU now. I just can't ignore what happened in 2003.

Those connections to Carroll and Freeze. Two biggest scandals in college football recruiting the last decade.

Last week, USC coach Pete Carroll called Orgeron "a tremendous competitor" with "incredible work ethic and tolerance for pushing himself" who will be "a factor in every phase of the program,"
Carroll predicted Orgeron would build Ole Miss "in real classic fashion," around defense, special teams and his personality: discipline and toughness.

Absolutely nothing.

The main thing that USC did was claim to be national champions, without ever playing in the game. And all the west coast media got behind them, trumpeting their mythical championship.
Even though the school agreed to the BCS and the formula to determine a championship, when they saw they had some publicity behind them -- they tried to discredit LSU's claim. They had USC players on TV saying why they were the "real" champions, and the media just gobbled it up.
Later, when USC legitimately (albeit illegitimately, since it was later forfeited) won the BCS championship in 2004, the next year they said they wanted to Three-Peat. As if LSU's BSC championship didn't even exist. Once again discrediting LSU's win and trying to say their AP championship was the "real" championship and LSU's didn't count.
And Cheaty Pete and Eddy O went along with that garbage, lock-step and file. Meanwhile, they cheated their asses off and destroyed their former school, and now Cheaty Pete continues to get popped in the NFL and Eddy O is the coach at LSU.
Oh, sweet irony....

The best thing about Carroll was him saying with a straight face that he had no idea USC was about to get sanctioned and he would've stayed otherwise.

USC is a rank amateur to bama on paying players. Not in same league

If LSU had a Coach with some balls back then, he would've gotten on ESPN and cried for support like he did 8 years later.
Oh well, probably too much to ask, the guy couldn't even make kids, the impotent bastard.

I'm not upset one bit that a SB winning and NCG winning coach supports our program...
