The Tyndall year maybe complicates things a little bit but if you can't put a team capable of winning a couple games in March out there by year 3 I think you have to re-evaluate.
As I said, this has been the worst month of basketball Tennessee has played since probably 2005. Really really embarrassing stretch.

Did you start this thread hoping UF could talk more shite to SC?
No I started it thinking there may be some people who cared about this game, but I seem to be wrong about that.
But we can talk some shite if you want to??

When you are taking steps back late in the year that raises real questions.
If he can't put a respectable product on the floor in year 3 why would you allow a fourth year with the same roster.
It's not hard at all to make the NCAA Tourney. This Tennessee team is absolutely horrendous and they have spent the entire conference season on the bubble.

He's going to get a fourth year unless next year is a disaster. You might as well call that first year a wash because of the Tyndall shite.
I don't disagree that the past month has been bad, but this team has still been a pleasant surprise. Most expected them to be down their with Mizzou and LSU. Tennessee has made more strides in two years with less talent than Mississippi State, and I don't think anyone reasonably would talk about firing Howland next year.

Next year he will have all of his own guys outside of Schofield.

They know they are out of the tourney. We may see the real UT in the SEC tourney though.

Where the hell was this team the past 2 home games? Lol

Horrible. It is as bad as Tennessee has played since the mid 2000s.

No real elite talent coming though. They have a lot of solid 2nd/3rd options.
The real concerning thing is how bad we have been in February. Texas fans said Barnes' teams peaked during the holiday season and so far that has been true here. December and January were 1000x better than February which is not a good sign.

South Carolina can t ell you how untrue that is
Seems like you are a little spoiled from the Pearl years. TN doesn't have some great history of getting bids

Barnes has got to recruit better. I think he is a very good coach when it comes to x's & o's and is a decent enough motivator.
He has no excuse to have VOLS in the bottom half of the SEC in recruiting tho

South Carolina hasn't won a tourney game since 1973. A horrible program.
Cuonzo was pretty bad here and even he was able to make the tourney by year 3.
With a 68 team field I think you should be making the tourney at least 2/3 years once you get going.
Think about how bad these bubble teams have been since the field expanded.

Please, take out the uncharacteristic burst of success of the Pearl years and UT has made it to the tournament a total of 2 whole times more than us since we joined the league. (likely only 1 more time after this season)

Tennessee has made it 8 more times since you joined the league.

Yes, because of the highly uncharacteristic success of the Pearl years.
As Vol fans like to claim about SC football post Spurrier, Vol basketball has returned to its mediocre to below-average self

Jerry Green made the tourney every year he was at Tennessee too, why not eliminate those years too and claim SC has more tourney appearances since expansion?
