Render looks like it's from NCAA 12

Not hating on the actual renovation though.

Why would you run a stadium East/West?

Makes no sense.

Is there some architectural rule that a stadium absolutely positively have to go in a North/South direction.

Sanford was built into a natural creek valley back in the 1920s. Creek still runs under the stadium, lower level still built onto the hills of the valley (hence Sanford isn't as steep as, say, UF, Tennessee, LSU, etc

People that don't know or understand the history of the stadium like to bitch that it runs East/West because then the sun can be in your face when you're playing

All I know is, the visiting team gets to bake in the sun long after UGA's side is in the shade, so

No. But it makes zero sense to run a stadium East/West. However, Stanford being old, and having geographical issues, I understand. But to chose to run a stadium East/West would make no sense in modern times.

Both sides of a stadium should get shade at the same time when a Stadium runs East/West......

Sun sets in the corner between the press box and the bridge so the visitor's sideline usually stays in the sun a little bit longer.
