Both oaks are getting replaced. One is disfigured. The other one never really took.

That really sucks. I know if some shithead had done that to the Century Oak, they'd be picking pieces of him out of the storm drains.

They ought to just plant some ground cover and be done with it.

Plant some bamboo. It grows fast and it's tough to kill.

Should be interesting when he dies. How long before a thread starts?

Look into that guys eyes. Seriously scroll back and look at his eyes. He is thinking to himself "Go 'head n plant them new trees, see what I do."

Yeah I just don't like it when teams traditions are fricked with. That's what sepearates the SEC from other leagues, college and pro.

Auburn should just go full Stanford at this point and make their mascot those damn trees

Hope it works this time. No sentimental value in current trees so chop away.

Quit trying to replant full sized trees.
Get one of those $15 Shumard oak trees at Lowe's and plant those. I've had great success with those.
Shouldn't be a problem for a horticulture based academic institution.

Oak trees are a symbol of strength, endurance, and might. Given the current leadership and students attending Auburn I think the University should consider another tree species that's more representative of Auburn. Maybe weeping willows or pussy willows?

I thought a "pussy willow" was a weed.

That "dude" is named Mr. Harvey Updyke. He is a fine American hero, and you will speak his damn name with reverence.
