Why are people convinced Georgia is going to be magically better this season?

It's not like Georgia lacked talent going into last season. Kirby can't coach and is a splitting image of Will Muschamp.
Florida wins again this year and wins the east, while Georgia gets the hype.
How many times have we heard that Georgia is going to win the east and Florida wins the east anyway?
It doesn't happen overnight! A good recruiting class does not automatically equal a successful season. JUST LOOK AT MUSCHAMP AS AN EXAMPLE.

They won't be "magically" better, but they will likely be better.

Because people think all of the SEC teams will be magically better next year - except for Florida.
Y'all in trouble.
Y'all in trouble.

Kirby is a great recruiter but worse coach than Richt

We actually did, especially when you take into account that most of our talented guys were super young.
UGA will likely have 0 or 1 player drafted this April.

Ole Miss should have beat them by 50. That's how bad they were last year.

Hard to believe they could be worse.

2015? yeah that's about it.
Tennessee was the darling pick in 2016.
Florida hadn't been to an SEC title game since '09 until these past two years....

Oh dont you use the were young bs. We started like 19 sophmores or below and caught all kinds of shite from uga fans for claiming we were young.

Because the East isn't very good.

We most certainly lacked talent at key positions. Other positions where we DID have talent it was awfully young.

WM has been a head coach for 5 years...Kirby only 1. This is a stupid comparison and you know it.

I don't have the time but you can easily look up the progress a coach makes between year 1 and year 2 at a school. Hell just look at Richt who people crap on at every turn. 8-4 first year as a HC...13-1 the next.
To answer your OP though:
-Our OL last year was trash. This year it won't be elite by any stretch but it will be better. Without solid OL play the offense goes nowhere, so we're instantly on better footing.
-Eason wont' be a True Freshman from washington adjusting to the SEC anymore. He's not winning the heisman but you can find countless examples of QBs making huge strides between FR and SO seasons. With as talented as he is, is it really a stretch that he'll improve?
-We return the best backfield in the SEC.
-We return 10 starters on defense. Our DL last year was talented but mostly very young. Everyone returns including Trent Thompson a former overall #1 player. All 4 LBs and all DBs except mo smith return. The defense was shaky early last year but really came on towards the end once we got our pieces in place, and every one of them minus 1 will be back.
-Kirby was in his first year ever as a head coach last year. You don't think that just maybe there was some learning on the fly there? He's not just trying to tread water anymore since he's now gone through this before.
-We trade @Om for MSU at home this year. Our schedule isn't that daunting from a team standpoint.
-And lastly, because it's not AS important, but we brought in the best recruiting class in school history. We had a talented roster that is now even more so.

Richt has coached for 16 seasons.
Kirby has coached for 1.
Brilliant analysis you have there.

I bet they take a stride this year and make the Florida game a toss up. I'm looking at Lorenzo Carter to have a real big year for them. This would be the year to do anything if they can, theyre going to lose a whole lot after next season

people have been saying that since he got on campus lol.
It's a very real possibility that he will be the 3rd most productive of our 4 starting LBs.
