He'd be a good one, but I want Jeff Scott from Clemson.

I'm really surprised that at this juncture, nobody has a damn clue who's on the short list. No leakage whatsoever. I didn't expect to know the name of the next OC, but there's not even much overlap in the wild arse guesses that are all over the map. The athletic department must be on strict lockdown.

It's after NSD and two months before Spring practice. Saban can take all the time he wants and there won't be any real negative side effects from it.

After they announce the new coach, Bone will say he reported it the whole time

I've known Magilla for years and you hit the nail on the head with that statement.

Nobody in the media seems to know a damn thing. And Bama3714 ain't even chimed in on this. Since it's coordinator level, Saban doesn't really have a need to share with his staff the candidates he's talking with. It may be that nobody knows a damn thing other than Godsey coming in for an interview.

I've been searching the interwebs pretty regularly and posting pretty much everything worth posting. Other than reports about Godsey coming in, it's all been speculation. Even when writers have mentioned sources, their sources seemed to have nothing beyond speculation.

Boz has gone quiet on WoolyAl too.

Could Billy Napier have been the source of all the staff leaks for the past 3 years?

To this day I wonder how great our offense could have been had Dubose not been stupid with Stubbs.

Yep. I think the longer this plays out the better it will be for us. First, it will eliminate the locksleys and the napiers. Second, it expands Nicks search to the likes of a Gilbert, which may not have been on his radar, but after talking to people he may get more ideas again like a Gilbert.

Guys this is not new. If you recall Jim McElwain wasn't in anybody's list when he was hired. I don't think people saw Nussmeir coming either. Lane we saw because he had been called in earlier to help analyze the offense.

But I can tell there at least have been some conversations that have gone on over the last 24-48 hours between those two individuals."

Thanks for making me spew coffee with that meme.

Coaching Rumors: Alabama interviews Joe Pannunzio for vacant coaching position
SEC Country | Feb 10, 2017
quote:

Alabama is without a tight ends/special teams coach, but that could soon change.

The Crimson Tide recently interviewed Joe Pannunzio for the vacant position, according to The Tuscaloosa News’ Aaron Suttles.

Pannuzio worked under Nick Saban as Alabama’s director of football operations from 2011-14 before leaving to overtake an administrative role with the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2014 season.

The longtime tight ends/special teams coach’s previous coaching stops include Miami (2006-10), Murray State (2000-05), Auburn (1999), Ole Miss (1995-98), Minnesota (1992-94) and TCU (1990-91).

If offered the job, Pannuzio is expected to accept, according to the report.

The opening comes after former Tide assistant Mario Cristobal accepted the co-offenisve coordinator position with Oregon.

A familiar face could be headed back to Tuscaloosa.

Joe Pannunzio interviewed for the University of Alabama's vacant tight ends/special teams coach position, The Tuscaloosa News has learned. If offered the job, he is expected to accept.

Pannunzio previously served on Nick Saban's staff in an administrative role as the director of football operations, overseeing several aspects of the program. He left UA to take a role on the Philadelphia Eagles staff following the 2014 season.

Pannunzio is a veteran coach and has worked at several stops as a tight ends/special teams coach since 1990. He last served as an on-the-field coach at Miami from 2006-10. He joined the Alabama staff, where he worked four years, in 2011.

Wasn't Pannunizo involved in the whole Miami thing that got tossed out?

He hasn't been on the field in 6 seasons. That's a pretty long time. I'm not crazy about that. This guy has bounced around from job to job with little upward movement. Makes you wonder. I hope this was just a courtesy interview.
