Youtube Highlights
Tua Tagovailoa will be tough to keep out of the starting lineup.

First of all it doesn't matter who the QB is if the WR's are going to drop passes that hit them in the hands. We could have Tom Brady back there, and it wouldn't matter. Receivers have to catch the ball.
Biggest jump for most players is between their freshman and sophomore seasons.
AJ did not start till his third season, and he still had growing pains.
Hurts will improve, and will likely be a Heisman contender.
Would you be posting this had Bama won the game after Hurts put Bama in position to win with 2 min left in the game ? I dont know about yall, but when Hurts broke that long run for what seemed like the game winning TD I was fairly certain we had a gamechanger at QB.

Coming from a guy in an all Bama family, but has them as his 2nd favorite team (so admittedly Idk as much about Bama as I do OM), I don't know. Tua looks good but can he really handle life over 4300 miles away from home? In the toughest conference in the country?
I think we keep Jalen as the starter. IMO we need a more natural passer at QB, that knows how to move, rather than one that runs around all the time.
Either way, I fully expect Bama to win another SEC title this year regardless of who is behind center

We're going to start another true freshman who needs a year to figure things out? One who played much worse high school competition?
That's just silly.

QB competition is good thing. Hopefully Tua is as good as advertised and helps push Jalen to up his passing game. It would be awesome to have two solid DT QBs. Hopefully, Jalen makes the typical substantial 1st to 2nd year off-season improvement.

No dude. Just no. Hurts had one of, if not THE, GOAT true freshman season as a QB. You think next year's true fresh QB is going to be even better than that?

Name the last True Freshman that won the SEC offensive player of the year as a true freshman before Hurts? Some of y'all need to chill... Like a thousand degrees. I swear AJ McCarron will be the only QB that was favored over the backups by the majority of Bama fans during his career here.

Honestly that highlight looked like a left-handed Jalen Hurts HS highlight reel.

For the life of me I can't understand why you all feel that another true freshman is going to be the answer

I love how YouTube highlights of a kid playing HS ball in Hawaii is presented as proof he can unseat a guy who went 14-1 and was offensive player of the year in the fricking SEC.
The things everyone else says about our fan base is sadly pretty spot on sometimes.

It's sad how quickly some of you will abandon a QB.
No, Hurts will be the guy barring injury or some other extreme circumstance. I expect Hurts to work his butt off between now and next season and become much better. He was a true freshman who no one (probably including himself) expected would actually be the guy.

Hurts with sark mentoring him will show vast improvement in his throw ability. It's all mental with hurts, he has the arm just needs to see the field. The last drive hurts made was unbelievable, hit AS13 in the hands while running for his life and then taking it in from 30 out. That drive showed me everything I'll ever need to see about hurts.

Is there any conceivable way you could have both of them on the field at the same time? Like one as a halfback?

My hopes are that Jalen progresses, keeps the job and somehow we redshirt Tua. Get a 2 year gap between them and and continue to run this conference.
Tua would have to be off the charts or Jalen would have to suck balls to lose the job IMO.

I would rather not start a true freshman again personally.

Very doubtful. Maybe if Hurts gets injured. Otherwise I can't see him being replaced.
