Has a parent ever just flat out refused to sign an LOI because they were adamantly against their child's decision ?

Yep, our Rb who just left for the NFL last year, Alex Collins had that happen. In fact I believe one of the parents actually took the Letter so he couldn't sign to begin with.

A few years ago a kids mom forged his signature and faxed it to one school even tho he was wanting to go to the other

Josh Harvey-Clemons' grandfather (who was his guardian) disappeared on NSD after JHC committed to Georgia. It took a couple days to convince him to sign.
