We may sign only one MO recruit this year

Seems likely that Graves signs with us as well, but he's heading JUCO.
As we sit now, only Davis as a MO recruit. One of the weakest years in state in recent memory. Good news is, the next two years are much better.
I doubt we've ever had a class with only one MO recruit

Armstrong technically is a MO recruit. He goes to school in kansas, but lives in Missouri.
Mizzou has already offered more 2018 Missouri recruits than 2017.

In state isn't strong but there are a few other players that I'd like to have. Some we lost the recruiting battle. Some are JUCO bound.

I'm not concerned.
MSHSAA Football sucks generally.

It would be nice if Ford and Elarbee could flip Hayes. I think he is going to make a great LG.

Is this possible?

I doubt it but I think he is going to end up having the best college career out of the 2017 instate class.

I would put Boyd on equal standing to him.

I think Hayes and Boyd are comparable in strength and hand technique but Hayes has better feet and lower body flexibility. Hayes could probably play RT if a team absolutely needed him to but I don't think Bedenbaugh will be put in that situation with their recruiting. Boyd's lower body will lock him in at OG and probably RG unless Smith and Butkus struggle to get edge players.

BO being a high school head coach in Missouri seems like it should help him have better relationships with coaches in the state.
The problem may not be with his coaches and staff. It might be the fact other high school head coaches just don't like him.

I'm still upset that we didn't get Hayes. I thought we were almost a lock for him before his commitment. I think Boyd will underwelm. His team (Trinity Catholic) was an opponent of a team we played against in the playoffs. I remember while scouting them, he was struggling to block a class two freshman. He's got lazy feet and lousy technique. Trinity Catholic is one of the worst coached teams I've seen in a while. If Boyd gets some good coaching, he'll be solid. But he won't be shite if he ends up playing at Illinois.

Bill Bedenbaugh is a good coach and an underrated recruiter.

Looked at the Sooners OL commits and targets. If they sign or get commits from their top targets Hayes will probably be looking for another school.
