Fournette is not a real team player. Plus he is bitch-made like 90 percent of that ignorant Louisiana trash.

Who's blaming him? It's a smart decision and probably more CEO than LF7. Why risk his future?

Exactly. The coaching staff made the decision since he wasn't 100% and Fournette agreed. Taking his future into consideration it's foolish to play the bowl game while still injured.

It's another opportunity for misinformed Bama fans to criticize him and disregard his talent.

Speaking of his future....
So what was LF7'S avg ypc vs Bama during his time playing for lsu?

Once you find out, deduct 1.89 from that avg and you'll have an idea as to how LF7 will fare in the nfl.

Coaching staff now has an excuse when L6U gets mud holed in the bowl.
Good thinking on their part.

Surely you're not suggesting that Fournette could actually make a difference in the bowl game? Most knowledgeable football fans would consider him a difference maker but the Bama fans on this board do not. So, where do you fall?

BTW... I don't think the coaching staff is already looking for excuses following a possible bowl loss.

If healthy he could run for 150--200yd against who they play.
Healthy he is a force. With any passing game to go with him LSU would be a force.
But that is just one mans' opinion.

That's a fair and reasonable outlook and I see it the same way.

Fournette's Greatness:
Is there any evidence? If so, what is it?

Big time performances in big games?
Career / season / game rushing stats?

What is it that makes LSU fans say he's so great...I can find no evidence to be honest.

His biggest games have been in meaningless games for LSU's schedule, except for one or maybe two instances.
Syracuse?
This year's Ole Miss squad?
Porous 2015 Auburn?

LSU needed him the most against Bama and he got shut down completely. Did he even break a tackle against Bama the last two years?

He's going to flop in the NFL. Let's be honest.
