Anyone hear Gus comments going into the third quarter

NOt sure what was asked but he said something to the affect that they now know what Bama is doing and will be able to take care of it. Is he saying this for himself or to give his fans something to give them hope
and before you Aubs make a comment about me being aubsessed, I just found it amusing. The die hard Auburn fan where I work is ready for him and the OC to hit the road.

I would say it's just coach speak but I think he really might be that delusional.

I saw it. He was also smiling saying "we're in this with a chance to win" or something like that. He plays to the aubies emotions when he doesn't speak about player injuries also. It's like he is saying "nothing wrong here, we're fine."

Well they were only down 5 and Bama looked terrible. Can't blame the guy.

Well he was correct about still being in the game, and maybe he felt confident about some of the adjustments they had made.
Sorry he didn't say "Bama is way too good and we are utterly fricked"

Randy what will the mood be down on the plains if your bowl game turns into a debacle?
That would be 3 bad losses in a row. (I'm counting UGA a bad loss because you should have won).

if you did not hear it then it means nothing to you. He said it in a bragging way about how they have got Bama figured out. Did not work for him. Most coaches would say we have made some adjustments and we will see how it turns out.

Given the score at halftime, that quote doesn't seem particularly unreasonable. Yes, their success depended on a large number of Hurts mistakes, but if Hurts was having a bad day, it was quite possible that he wouldn't have corrected in the second half and Auburn could have been in the game until the end. Even Bama can have a bad day, and sometimes that's all it takes for an inferior team to pull the upset.

I did see it. I didn't have a problem with his comments. Obviously it didn't work out, but to go back in hindsight and knock him for having confidence in what they were doing is ludicrous.

no problems here at all. Just thought it was ridiculous for a HC to brag that they have bama figured out. There is a way to say the same thing without bragging. Either way I hope AU gives him a lifetime contract.

Well, there were WRs wide open for touchdowns in the second half. We just didn't have a QB to throw it to them. Maybe JF3, but the game was out of reach by the time they finally decided to play him. The way JF3 drove the offense right down the field on both possessions just made me laugh. Oh Gus loves playing his son JJ.

I didn't see anything really wrong with it. But I did think to myself that maybe Saban and Co. made some adjustments as well. Because duh of course they did.

That is par for the course for Malzahn. Surprised he didnt add that "everyone had a great week of practice to prepare for such a challenge. We know what they like to do and think we have a good gameplan. And Im not ready to say anything about our injuries just yet. We will see how he looks jogging out of the tunnel and make a decision from there."

his team was still in the game with a chance to win...you seem a bit offended that your team hadn't made their arse quit with a whole quarter left to play. you also seem like someone who would contemplate poisoning some trees or committing aggravated assault(on a woman or your wife tho, not a man)when Bama eventually loses a game in the next 5 years.

I am confused what you expect a coach to say at halftime in a game only down 13-9? There's plenty to mock Gus for but saying they made adjustments and feel confident they can win isn't one of em

Is this thread serious? I'm not sure what some of you expect a person to say.

Gus knew what was coming in the 4th quarter.
