He would be an incredible defensive coordinator that would put some life in our program.

He's a great defensive mind, he's a great recruiter (he recruited Michael Oher for those who haven't seen The Blind Side), and he is great with player motivation.

I personally think he would be a great hire. Oxford would love him.

Ed O for defensive coordinator, and Kliff Kingsbury for O-Coordinator.

No way in hell he comes back to Oxford after being fired to coach under a high school football coach that he threw a bone to just as a recruiting ploy.

Actually I change my choice to Strong. We could even bring him in next week if we wanted to

Strong will be a head coach somewhere.

Throw the damn bank at Tom Allen.

Realistically that the most likely scenario. Watching Indiana today impressed me

I still don't get this. He hasn't shown anything promising, just good at hyping people up. Go after someone more proven.

Charlie Strong just lost to Kansas.

Ed O would be nice, but he isn't coming.

If you are going to throw the bank, get someone proven and good, like Aranda.

Huh? He turned USF from the 75th ranked defense in 2014 to 35th in 2015, the top scoring defense in the AAC, and had three All-Conference players.

Indiana was ranked 121st in 2015 and his first year as defensive coordinator there he has them at 53rd in the nation.

What exactly is not promising about that?

He's not a d coordinator, he is a d line coach and a recruiter. Would not be able to run an entire defense

He wasn't that great of a recruiter here. I'd wait and see what success he has at Indiana before we "throw the bank" at a guy who has been a DC for 2 years.

Tom Allen runs the same system we do now. He turned around USF and Indiana from horrible defenses to okay after 1 season. He'd be a great hire here. Isn't a coincidence our defense dropped off a cliff after he left. Out of realistic hires, he is the best. We aren't getting someone like Charlie Strong

I don't want Tom Allen or Ed O.

Throw the kitchen sink at Aranda.

We don't always see eye to eye, but I'm glad we do on this.

I'd wouldn't mind seeing Strong here. He should have never taken that job at Texas and was dealing with big money donors like Red McCombs that didn't want him there from day one. There was even the rumor that he had to be talked into taking the job, but I take everything Gary Barnett says with a grain of salt. I can't imagine trying to coach a program while a huge contingent of the big money is openly still plotting their next gambit to hire Nick Saban

You couldn't have two stories more different than Strong's time at Louisville and his time at Texas, but I tend to think the real Charlie Strong was that coach at Louisville.

I was at the Cal-Texas game this year. If Strong had anything to do with calling that defense, I don't want him anywhere near the team.
