quote:
Adjusted Line Yards (ALY): Statistic that attempts to, even to a small extent, separate the ability of a running back from the ability of the offensive line. Adjusted Line Yards begin as a measure of average rushing yards per play by running backs only, adjusted in the following way:
0-4 yards: 100% strength
5-10 yards: 50% strength
11+ yards: not included
runs for a loss: 120% strength
Each play is also adjusted based on game situation as well as quality of opponents faced.
quote:
Opportunity Rate : This is the percentage of carries in which the offensive line "does its job" and produces at least five yards of rushing for the runner. (Generally speaking, the first five yards are considered the line's responsibility, the next five are split evenly between the runner and the line, and anything over 10 yards is all on the runner.) See Highlight Yards and Adj. Line Yards for more information.
quote:
Success Rate : A common Football Outsiders tool used to measure efficiency by determining whether every play of a given game was successful or not. The terms of success in college football: 50 percent of necessary yardage on first down, 70 percent on second down, and 100 percent on third and fourth down.

Nah.. Bamas defense wont be able to stop a good running and throwing QB... If Ohio states QB is on point, it will be a shootout offensively similar to the last game these two played

Ohio State wins that game, I'll throw a sig bet on it later in the year if they actually play.

Alabama would handle Michigan with ease... The OSU game seems like a tossup to me

Michigan game would look at a lot like the LSU game IMHO.

Hopefully their players don't get raped with holds on a Hurts TD scramble, but I wouldn't put money on it

I think that we'd make JT Barrett look like Troy Smith circa 2007 BCSNC game against Florida.

You are wrong William.

If and when that happens i'll take that bet.If you are going to bet against Bama at this point. I suspect your judgement is impaired by your dislike. Nobody is going to run on Bama. It is the first thing they will take away. I can see 2 qb's who are legitimate threats to beat Bama. That is Watson and Jackson. Nobody else has the right kind of qb to neutralize Bama's dline.

Penn State pretty much neutralized Barrett, Alabama for them would be like playing a faster PSU defense with a lot more O.

This is silly. They won't be able to completely contain a good dual-threat because, well, very few teams can, and it's usually a fluke. The reason good dual-threats are considered good dual-threats is because -- and let's all gasp in collective shock -- they're good. But they beat both Clemson and OM in shootouts in the last 10 months, and even when they lost to previous OM teams, a considerable majority of the blame could be assigned to special teams errors and offensive mistakes, not defense. This mantra of not being able to stop a good dual-threat is a very simplistic one.

Osu OL is way down this year. That alone doesn't bode well for JT. I like our chances with our def.

You are pretty accurate with your assessment. Although like most talented teams they have gotten better as the year goes on. I think Bama's wins this game but it's probably like 35-24 or 38-28. A good game I think.

I agree it would be a good game just one observation I had.

Bama will beat any of them by at least 3 scores
