At least we don't have to go home to the shithole that ia Mississippi.
Honestly though, what the frick...
We would be ranked #2 tomorrow if we had taken care of business the last two games. This is unacceptable. Both of these games were easily winnable, and we didn't get it done. Our offensive player calling is laughable. The defense is on the field way too damn long because of it. It's been going on for 3 years. Nothing has changed. We suck. Prepare for 6-0 shite talk from LOLolsu.

Four years, the team crumbled down the stretch in 2013 too.

I was more talking about the play calling the last 3 years.
You are right though, 4 years we have collapsed. Which is so strange to me. In 2010 and in 2012 we where one of the best teams in the country during November.

As a State fan that lives in Texas, looks like I get the best of both situations with the bonus of enjoying your tears.

How we lost is what is depressing. Clearly a depth problem.
I guess 2012-2016 was our long awaited "up" cycle. Time for Texas to hire a decent coach and kick us back to the cellar for a decade.
Firing Sumlin doesn't sound nearly as appealing as my 2007 plan to indoctrinate Aggies to prefer basketball instead so we can be a basketball school.
It isn't sad that our time is done, it's sad we will look back in five years and miss this like we missed RC.

As of last night, we are.

Not yet. Once we fire Sumlin and replace him with a Sherman hire it will be official.

cardboard: How much of our depth issue can be attributed to the attrition out of our 2013 class? I think that is a contributing factor right now.

Or the fact our 2015 class wasn't loaded with defensive talent? I don't know.

That too. I was thinking in terms of upper classmen.

We lack major playmakers at LB. This has to be fixed with recruiting.
We have enough bodies to work with on DL, we just need to be much more disciplined on run and pass rush containment. The season has taken its toll on our secondary so we are are now playing deep backups at certain positions.
We are paying the price at OL for hiring and keeping Sumlin's original OL coach too long. This has to be fixed with recruiting. We are going to need to find a couple more lineman that can play, plug them in at least a year earlier than we would like, and keep our fingers crossed that we stay healthy in this unit.

I don't fault Sumlin for not having the talent we need on the defense. No A&M coach has since Mack Brown came around, I can't pin that solely on Sumlin.
I blame Sumlin for the fact that year five we don't have a QB recruited and developed by him ready to start this last game.

Sumlin should have done better, but I'm putting this on Mazzone. He needs to be able to get the running game going. He was lazy and lethargic with the play calling.
There are plenty of ways to generate a running game. Speedy and Kirk can run the reverse. I saw Bama run this to perfection on MSU. We could have also run the "wild-cat" with Kirk. We could have lined up some additional TEs like we did during the UCLA game. I've also seen Mazzone use DTs as blockers and runners while at UCLA, but we haven't done any of that at A&M though Daylon Mack was a running back.

It falls on Sumlin. Mazzone didn't have the luxury of recruiting his own players like Rosen. The QB position has been a trainwreck since Manuel left and it didn't help that our past offensive coaches have been all fuddy-duddy with the players instead of being coaches.
