Paying players and the power 5 breaking away

If this happens, would the next logical step be to institute some type of draft for HS players? It's really the only way to effectively level the playing field and while that's not much of a concern today it could become so if schools are required to carry a payroll.
Thoughts?

All of it sounds horrible, but if CFB is going to turn into a mini NFL then it's the next logical step really.
Along with blowing up the conferences and going to some type of division setup and a expanded playoff.

Are you joking? Telling kids where they have to go to college?

"They change jersey numbers, not guys," Dooley said. "They sign the same guys every year, just different names. And they draft, we recruit. And they get the first 25 picks of the draft
Additional OBC: "In 12 years at Florida, I don't think we ever signed a kid from the state of Alabama ... Of course, we found out later that the scholarships they were giving out at Alabama were worth a whole lot more than ours."

They are told which NFL team they have to play for now.
If you're paying them...
I think there is a very good chance that CFB is virtually unrecognizable in 25 years. Money has rooted itself far too deep in the game.

Terrible idea. Drafting players...telling them where they will have to go to college....unless they are paid. Actually, if they are paid like employees, and then are employees of the power 5, this makes some sense. But of course, paying them makes f***ing zero sense. Given the fact that college athletics LOSES money...and the few college programs that make money simply bankroll ALL of the other sports that lose money...from baseball to women's golf, and Title IX is going nowhere...it's a HORRIBLE idea. As if college isn't expensive enough?!?! Now, the football players that are already going to school ENTIRELY free, including food...will also be paid by the very student body who will walk away from college with $70K of student loan debt..so they'll see that go up because football players aren't benefiting enough from the free education, books, housing, food, etc...that we also have to pay them to make sure that they have a nice new car and the newest iphone and clothes. GTFO with that ridiculous bullshite!!
Ok. I admit it. I have a high school senior who is about to go to college. She has a 4.2 GPA and 2 years of college completed IN HIGH SCHOOL but isn't worthy of a red cent from one of the Florida schools to which she is applying...so I'm a little f***ing jaded!

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on here. If all p5 schools are paying them the same then the playing field is level.

Why did drafting high school players become your next logical step?

They are told where they have to play in the NFL, but you can't tell someone where they have to go to college. Obtaining an education is more important than playing football, and forcing a kid to go to a school that is too easy or too hard is not good for them in the long run.
It isn't all about football and money man.
