TL;DR:

Released documents regarding an investigation in the past in which Comey headed.

There was no order to release.

No prompt for them to do it either, a deadline nor a request (Freedom of Information Act).

In meetings, the Justice Department and senior F.B.I. officials agreed that making the Clinton Foundation investigation public could influence the presidential race and suggest they were favoring Mr. Trump. But waiting, they acknowledged, could open them up to criticism from Republicans, who were demanding an investigation.

They agreed to keep the case open but wait until after the election to determine their next steps. The move infuriated some agents, who thought that the F.B.I.’s leaders were reining them in because of politics.

Addendum Edit:

But F.B.I. agents, many of whom are strongly supportive of Mr. Comey and his approachable leadership style, have struggled to defend his decision. They acknowledge that he was in a bind, but say the backlash against the F.B.I. is unlike any in recent history.

Tonight the FBI did a doc dump on Twitter regarding the Presidential Pardon made by Bill Clinton to Marc Rich for tax evasion (and many other things).

According to WH Spokesman Josh Earnest:

"I've not spoke(n) to anybody who has any awareness of being consulted about that material before it was released," Earnest told reporters traveling with the president.

The Rich investigation did not lead to federal charges under Comey and the case was closed in 2005.

Meet the new boss

Same as the old boss

The United States Government is corrupt as hell. It'll take the blood of tyrants and patriots to sprinkle life onto the Tree of Liberty.

Why doesn't the FBI just do their job and not worry about what it looks like politics wise? If an issue is brought to light, investigate it. I don't care if the subject is Republican, Democrat, or whatever. Just do your job.

In this case, that appears to be exactly what they're doing.

Why shouldn't we know everything about the candidates? If our potential president is under investigation for something, we should know.

Let the people decide if the investigation is stupid or not. I'm tired of the government trying to protect the people from themselves. They shouldn't decide what we see and don't see.

Oh, should they have covered up the information until after the election? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG THERE?

How does anyone with a soul support Hillary? I'm so sick of this shite. This big government protection of themselves while we get fricked in the arse. And not only do the Shillarys ignore it, they do all but support it.

yea....no

I wasn't pleased with the Hillary campaign holding onto evidence that Trump was sexually aggressive towards women either. Some things need to be brought to light as soon as they've been found. Using something like that to gain political ground is scummy.

My point was that it was clearly political to re open the investigation at this time. Idk how anyone could disagree.

I don't want corporate America nor governmental agencies playing in politics.

Because the other side of that coin is purposefully sitting on said info would also be clearly political.

All this sexual assault on women by Donald Trump and wasn't made known to public until 3 weeks before election?
Anybody with a self functioning mind can see that is political BS!
Yeah he said things but Hell I'd hate for public to hear what been said between me and Friends in gym locker room!
