Would Fournette have been the greatest college RB ever had he gone to Bama?

When we think of the all time greats we talk about Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, Barry Sanders, and Archie Griffin.
Then comes the Heisman level running backs. Reggie Bush*, Ricky Williams, Eddie George, Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry, Marcus Allen, etc.
Next is the third tier of really good running backs that won maybe a Doak Walker award.. Darren McFadden, LaDainian Tomlinson, Trent Richardson,Toby Gerhart, and Melvin Gordon.
Next is a tier of backs that has no hardware and no championships to show for their time in college.
Leonard Fournette is sadly in this last group of running backs.. He wont win any major awards like a Heisman or Doak Walker award, and he certainly wont win any championships.. People from LSU will remember him, but most people will forget about the kid within 5 years.
If Leonard Fournette had go to Bama he could have possibly been in the discussion as Greatest College Running Back ever. I mean Alabama got Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry to Heisman level.. I'll admit as far as pure talent goes LF is better than both of those.. But he's been on some shitty teams with no shot at getting the spotlight you need to be in the discussion as GOAT.

He's been a bust so far at LSU so I think he would have blossomed anywhere else IMO

His numbers are better than any Alabama RB ever... so he's got that going for him

Along with namath in the pros, archie is one of the most overrated athletes in history and only gets recognition because of a BS award given to him that he didn't deserve. If it weren't for him being gifted a second heisman nobody on here would even know that dude's name.

For reference:
Archie's senior year (2nd heisman)-
262 for 1450, 5.5 ypc, 4 TDs
Herschel's true freshman year-
274 for 1616, 5.9 ypc, 15 TDs
But stuck up old codgers didn't think underclassmen could win back then. Lucky for the rest of america I guess because if they could herschel would be your first 3 time heisman winner.

You are absolutely right...I mean he hardly gets any air time on major networks...hopefully he gets drafted by day two...maybe he should play one more year to increase his draft stock

Leonard Fournette is on Heisman level. The voters just take a player being on a winning team into too much consideration. He absolutely had a Heisman season in 2015, and one of the games was even forfeited. Remember, he averaged more YPC and YPG than Derrick Henry last year.
Alabama fans point at his play against Alabama as "unworthy" or whatever, and don't take into consideration that Derrick Henry would likely have done the exact same thing if he was behind LSU's offensive line.

Fournette will be remembered more than Henry and Ingram even though they somehow won the Heisman

Peterson was snubbed for even a better year just because he was a freshman.

He disappeared in 3 November losses while Henry went wild and carried Bama to a Natty. The voters got it absolutely correct with Henry and Fournette 1 and 6, respectively.

Would of been a great backup to Henry last year imo.

If Ingram & Henry could win Heisman @ Bama....LF could have won 3

Honestly, I could see him winning the Doak this season as a career achievement sympathy award.
