re: Reuben Foster may be the best Linebacker Saban has had at UA.

quote:Reuben's work ethic has been phenomenal since he's been at Bama. The kid plays a wicked game, but he has worked his arse off to hone his skills and not only learn that defense but translate it to the field.
I made a post earlier stating the same. He is not the leader Rolando McClain was, He doesn't have the instincts of CJ Moseley, he isn't as versatile as Hightower, he isn't as knowledgeable as Reggie Ragland, but he is better than all of them.
He is playing linebacker at a level higher than any of then ever played. He is even covering at an elite level.
He is the difference between this defense and last years. Reggie Ragland was a great player, but Reuben is a monster that has an infectious level of savage. The whole defense just seems mean.
RTR #10!

I think Beckwith and Foster are insanely good linebackers and I'll leave it at that. When guys are elite there's no point in fighting over who's better.

If we are talking college only my vote goes to Rolondo

Foster definitely benefited from choosing Alabama. He had to work and learn the game to see the field there where at Auburn I think he plays simply based on his freakish athletic ability. I don't think it is true for most players that would make it to the NFL regardless but he is one where I'll concede that choosing Bama helped him develop as a player.

Then the defense must have been vaccinated. I was reading the Rant Score Board during the Southern Miss game and all I read was how the defense was soft.

Love all these Bama douches coming out on the rant with "greatest team ever from Saban, greatest player ever this year at his position on Bama, greatest strength and conditioning coach of all time, greatest professor to ever hire a tutor for Jalen Hurts or Tim Williams." GTFO. Nobody cares outside of Alabama if you have the greatest third grade teacher who ever taught Lame Kiffens.

It could be that or the fact he really likes food.

Well, since LSU likes to keep trumpeting themselves as the breeding grounds for the NFL I assume that is the metric by which they will hang their hat on. Does anyone really want to argue that Beckwith is going to be drafted ahead of Reuben?

Foster has the rings. The other guy, not so much.

Now we're moving to draft day

This thread is similar to threads last offseason comparing Fournette and Chubb.
Fournette is clearly the better player but Georgia fans said, "BUT STATS!"
Beckwith has better stats than Rueben. But As an LSU fan, I'll swallow the bullet and say that Rueben is a little better, but Beckwith is right behind him.
Both NFL starters at MLB. I will say though, you cAnt teach the maturity and smarts of Beckwith. (Dude fricking breeds horses)

Doesn't everybody read the Rantard Score Board? It might be the most entertaining thing on this whole website. There is one incontrovertible truth in SEC football:
"No one hates LSU football like LSU fans"
"No one hates LSU football like LSU fans"

It's pretty common knowledge that defensive stats can be heavily skewed due the the lopsided number of snaps one defense is on the field compared to another. There isn't a yards per carry type stat to use on defensive as an equalizer. Beckwith is a good player, but let's get real..he isn't better than Foster. You probably won't find one mock draft or scout that rates him higher, and many have Davis at Florida rated above Beckwith.

quote:come on man. Dont be ignorant. Do a little research and youll see that LSU has a top defense in the nation, let alone the SEC. LSU came out sloppy and gave up and opening drive TD. Then played dominant after that.

70 more tackles
10 more TFL
4 more sacks
1 more interception
3 more forced fumbles
2 more fumbles recovered
, yeah those stats are skewed...
And good point on the "scouts", they're always spot on
