Is it time to make a switch?

I know, I know. Backup QB is always the most popular guy but Lock has been flat out brutal. Crockett is our best player and having Zanders next to him makes him that much better.

Season is already over. I say give Zanders a start and see what happens.

Season isn't over.

Lots of winnable games still left on the schedule. I was hoping for a 3-3 start, but the record is still what most predicted at this point.

You're right though, Lock cannot go out and have days like today. Zanders needs a serious look at QB.

I like Zanders but it's still too much of a kneejerk decision to bench Lock. He's not a fit for Heupel's system but look at his talent. A couple of shitty games can't erase all of the upside he has. He played like shite today but he wasn't as bad as J'Mon in two games. He's a cancer IMO. He's a diva who plays when he wants to, not to mention his role in the protests.

I want to see though how well Zanders plays when he's not playing twos and when he's THE guy. Mizzou has had QB controversies since Blaine Gabbert and I'm sick of it. Stick with a guy and don't give in to fan pressure

Yes, they should start Crockett over Witter. Keep Lock. Zanders isn't the answer. Getting a running game is.

The offense looked unprepared again today.

I think M Zanders earned himself some playing time in the 4th quarter.

The coaches could set some boundaries for Drew to know when Marvin will be sent in. Things like, too many 3 and outs, or stalled drives, or interceptions and we are going to see what Marvin can do for a few possessions. Both of them are sophomores and they don't want to alienate them from the program like Texas A&M did when they had a couple star QBs transfer at the end of the year. Or was it 3?

I chalk all this up to learning experience for Drew Lock. Even some of the celebrated QBs we had at Mizzou would have games that for 2 or 3 quarters the offense went to sleep. Especially when they were sophomores. And those were B12 defenses rather than elites like LSU and Florida.

I agree. I'm a huge DL fan, but sometimes sitting a guy can help him focus better. He can either get that Drew McMopey look off his face and man up or he pouts and maybe you never had the right guy to begin with. Zanders looked serious out there, and besides, he threw the one, nice pass to the middle of the field...and the WR actually caught it. Time to let Zanders start. You can always pull him if things go south.
