It's the only thing that Klatt has ever said that was accurate.

Prior to Nick, LSU was a good but not elite program. Not bad, but didn't raise a blip in the national consciousness.

Since you are educating us on the national consciousness of decades to prior to 2000s, how old are you?
You know there was more than just the 90s prior to nick Saban arriving at LSU right?

You are wrong again. We had 3 top 10 finishes in the 70s and 80s. Including 3 more finishes at #11, one whole spot away.

Nope. LSU finished ap top 10 once in 30 years from 71 to 2000.

LSU is a top 10 coaching job at the present time. This isn't the 70's, 80's or 90's

What the frick does the 70s 80s and 90s have to do with what kind of job LSU is today?

if you include the AP and coaches polls (you know, the two major selectors), LSU finished in the top 10 from 1969-1972 and 1986-1987. They finished #11 a few times and in the top 15 a few more. No LSU wasn't then what they have been the last 20 years, but no one has ever claimed they were.

In the AP alone, LSU finished in the top 10 in 1970, 1986, and 1987
In the Coaches they finished in the top 10 in 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1986

In the AP, they finished in the top 15 in 1970-1973, 1982, 1984, 1986-87, 1996-97

Just because you post incorrect facts doesn't make them correct. This information is readily available with a simple google search.

Everything he has said in this entire thread only contradicts facts and contributes to the ignorance of the SECrant.

Well you have said 0, then you say 1, now you admit 2.

I mean do you want me to just sit here while you make shite up?

And if you want to say oops, how about this:
-Finished top 10 in 1970, oops that's not the 70s I guess
-Finished #11 in 71,72, and 82. Oops that's not quite top 10.

Bottom line you were wrong. Bottom line we were still pretty good in our down period.

Nope I said once per j klatt. It was twice in 3 decades. Try reauxding the OP again. The narrative is the same.

Incorrect again...

You did say that in your OP.

Then when corrected you said 2 different false things all on your own.

And by the way you "protested" multiple times when you thought we were one off, then say "big deal" when we show you were off.

I'm done with you. I can only provide you with visual evidence of your bullshite so many times. Have a good night

well the narrative is ignorant, and it kind of speaks to your own ignorance for starting a thread that supports that narrative. There are jobs that were elite in the 70s-90s that aren't elite jobs today and vice versa. There are ebbs and flows with the strength of programs across long periods of times. A lot can change. LSU is not the same job now as in was in 1994 when Hallman was fired, over 20 years ago.

Nebraska football finished in the top 10 24 times from 1970-2001. Since then, they have finished in the top 10 zero times and finished unranked 8 times in 14 seasons.

From 1980-2003 Miami finished in the top 10 16 times. Since then, they have finished in the top 10 zero times. They've only finished ranked once the past 9 seasons and haven't finished ranked since 2009. Prior to 1980, they finished in the top 10 once in their entire history.

Tennessee finished in the top 10 12 times from 1970-2001. Since 2001, Tennessee has not finished in the top 10 and have finished unranked 9 times in 14 seasons. Last year (#22) was the first time they'd finished ranked since 2007.

Conversely, we've already gone over LSU's finish through 1999. From 2000-present, LSU has finished in the top 10 7 times in 15 years and unranked only 3 times. Prior to 1970, LSU finished in the top 10 7 times from 1958-1969.

I could go on, but you should get the point

Good post. Historical results are not guarantees of future returns. It's interesting but history does tell us something in the CFB realm.

You're right I typed too fast. Meant to say 1 in 30 years which I heard from a supposed expert. Turns out it was 2.

What is talent in the state worth if you can't hold onto it? Obviously this was an issue before NS got there and continues to be a problem since he left. That's a fact! How many guys from the state go elsewhere every year?! If you can't hold onto them , then that argument holds no water.
