Texas A&M's Trevor Knight was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation Offensive Player of the week, while Alabama's Minkah Fitzpatrick earned the honors on defense.
Knight, a post-grad quarterback, accounted for 339 yards and five touchdowns (3 rushing, 2 passing) as eighth-ranked Texas A&M beat No. 9 Tennessee 45-38 in overtime. Knight passed for 239 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 110 yards and three scores. Knight's one-yard scoring run was the game-winner in the second overtime.

Fans dump on knight left and right but his numbers are great, if he keeps this up and we go 11-1 is there an outside chance at an invite to New York?

Trevor Knight's passing game is just schoolyard Jackpot. Chunk it deep and hope that tall kid gets it.

I think his numbers are good, but not great. Completion %, yards per attempt and passer rating are a step below what I'd consider great.
But 6-0 is great and ultimately all that matters. I think he gets an invite if he beats Bama and leads us to the SEC title. Anything short of that and I think he's watching at home like the rest of us.

Calling him streaky is an understatement. He absolutely puts the ball on the money about 1/3 of the time. He is able to throw a great ball. We just don't see it very often. 1/3 are catchable and our WRs make plays on it because they're fricking good (see Kirk in OT). And another 1/3 are just plain bad. He skips them in the dirt or just launches it off the back foot to the wrong team.

They're going to notice his high INTs, low passing %, and low passer rating.
However winning the Heisman is as much about moments as it is about #s. He has the TD run vs Ten. If he can have a similar moment vs Bama and ends up with say 3200 yards, 20 TDs, 1000 yards, and 15 TDs then I think OS is right. Still a long long way to go.

No, we'd have to win out and he would need at least 2 more 'Heisman moments' to be in consideration. Even then, there are other players who are clearly more talented.

We just need the media to buy in. Johnny should have been the biggest Heisman blowout of all time, but somehow an above avg LB became a media darling and finished a respectable 2nd. Some shitty KSU QB finished 3rd.

If we're being honest, the one stat they really look at is Wins/Losses. And Trevor is doing great in that area.
I think he's clearly behind Watson, Jackson and Browning at this point. If they went with 4 QBs, he's in the running.
Not sure any RBs will be there in December. McCaffrey and Royce Freeman are done due to team losses. Maybe Dalvin Cook?

And I think either Jabril Peppers or JT Barrett will be invited, depending on who wins the OSU-Michigan game.

Not unless we beat Bama and he was absolutely on fire. TK has been exactly what we needed/hoped for, but way too streaky for Heisman talk.
How many times would I bring it up to OU fans that talked infinite amounts of shite before the season if it happened? The limit does not exist.
