Those yellow birds don't want to play us. I think they are just going to try to cancel the game at the last moment.

I am surprised that they moved the LSU game, but refuse to move this one. Seems odd.

I assume there is a lot of $$$ at stake at this point two years in a row

They moved the LSU game because there was already a lot of flooding and damage. For this game, nothing has happened yet, and there is a fair chance not a lot will happen that far west of where this storm is supposed to pass. If anything, the game should be moved to another weekend. That decision doesn't have to happen until tomorrow.

No doubt you are correct, but I would think they could either move it to the Georgia Dome or to Sanford. I'm sure our stadium seats a lot more than their own....pay us expenses, and then the usual split and they might still come out even. (Not sure, though, as I really don't know how many their stadium sits or the expenses for a game)

Ah! Ok. I was under the impression that it was expected to strike ground at South Carolina. I do understand that a hurricane is pretty unpredictable and could veer away from the coast, though.

There will be a lot of rain and 25-30 MPH wind gusts... it's won't be delightful football weather, but we're not going to be playing in the middle of hurricane force winds. The weather was never what worried me in regards to the game, it was always the lack of available LEO's with the State Patrol being sent to the evac routes and coastal regions. Sherriff Lott stepped in and Richland County will take care of that aspect of it. I'm fine with the game going on as expected. I don't expect a full stadium, though.

Exactly. The big concern wasn't that we'd be playing in some torrential weather, the last 48 hours Columbia has been expected to get a few inches of rain and some higher winds than normal. It's all the evacuees and lack of emergency personnel that was the issue, which now seems like it is SOMEWHAT addressed.

There are 163 miles back from Columbia, we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

I understand that. I expect a stadium that is at 1/2 to 3/4 capacity. The weather will keep some people away and the lack of lodging will keep nearly every person coming in from out of town away. Good news in that case is that it might not be as loud as normal.

if the winds go as they say, Cola may well have some power outages.
Posted on 10/6/16 at 8:50 am to Peter Buck
25-30 MPH winds with wet ground? Yeah, there will likely be a good bit of people who lose power. Games have been played in worse conditions, though.

As quirky as this storm is, not sure they can make an educated decision today. There still is a chance they get TS winds Saturday in Cola.

The Shamecocks hate Clemson and then UGA! In that order. Never realized that until I moved to this area. Prez Pastides should have already moved the game because Haley said that there are no troopers available for the game, instead they are being petty and don't want play in the state of GA for three straight seasons. I hope it's played in Athens and McGarity balls up on them and refuses to change next year. Three years between the hedges and hopefully three arse beatings in a row. That's payback for hiring the Old Ballsack and Muschump! Screw the Shamecocks!
GO DAWGS!!!!

I was thinking more on the lines of what 25-30 MPH winds would do to a passing game. It won't stop it, but it will restrict it. That means they can load the box. Their offense is bad, but their defense looks greatly improved. (It has to be greatly improved over what they had last year)
