Rico never had it on because he was on the bench when the play happened.

Rico McGraw ran from the sideline onto the field to celebrate with the offense. He didn't have a helmet on. There are photos of it. After UT's INT, one of their injured players I street clothes ran way out onto the field to celebrate and no flag was thrown. Both should have been flagged as they are both technically illegal, so you can't really bitch about it.

That is a stupid fricken rule. And per usual, dawgs get fricked on the dumbest enforcement of stupid rules by incompetent overzealous refs.
Stomping, jumping, AJ's celebration, targeting calls at Vandy, we are snakebit

Too bad one of our coaches didn't get out there and defend the pass. Apparently that is ok too...

Where are the photos? I agree, if i was a ref, I would've kept the flag in my pocket because that's utter bullshite.

I agree that this is a penalty that the refs need to enforce with discretion but equally. This was not the case yesterday.

Jonathan Ledbetter also ran out there, maybe they thought the game was over, maybe they're just impulsive idiots, idk.

This definitely hurt us, and it's possible that it cost us the game. You can never be totally certain.
The team looked very good yesterday, and Smart and coaches called a good game overall. Both the team and coach took a major step forward yesterday. The ending was disappointing, but I think in the long run this experience will pay large dividends.

Maybe he was drunk.

That unsportsmanlike penalty was bullshite. Absolute bullshite. Players celebrating after an awesome football play with seconds left in that context?! The ref who threw that flag was a complete anal fricktard with zero sense for the spirit of the game.

Anal fricktard is a good one

I saw that too..I asked my buddy how the hell a coach can almost intercept a pass from Michel and not get called for a damn thing?? Yet another way that Tennessee has had one of the luckiest seasons i've ever witnessed in my life. Game after game they get away with sloppy play, bad sportsmanship, and insane calls/no-calls.

It's not a penalty.

Interesting... I wonder if him coming on the field of play consititutes it though... that appears to be the refs interpretation

That streak will come to a screeching halt against Bama.

Either that, or they didn't know he was coming from the sideline. With so much going on thye can't keep up with everybody who was playing and who was on the sideline. I'm pretty sure the sideline people are not supposed to be on the field, either, to celebrate.
