So....having a mobile QB (ala TN) allows you to get by with a lower quality OL. That explains their success with a smaller OL talent pool. The rest of these breakouts support your thesis.

We have developed the Perfect Storm of offense purgatory. Immobile QB, small receivers that can't get open and a bad OLine.

Not really. Just the opposite, really. Florida doesn't support it, either. And LSU recruited better, but their OL is pretty bad, too. Fournette is struggling to run the ball. The only team that is doing well with the scenario is Alabama, and that is because the recruit like they do.


When it comes to OL, I think a good bit comes down to developing them. That's one reason the Pittman hire was such a good one. I am thinking we will see improvement next year. they are patching together an OL right now. All in all the OL is not as bad as many believe, but it certainly isn't great, either.
